Run down, dingy, and lack of welcome in the facility. Dining room staff is very rude to residents and family members, especially who was said “supervisor”. Food was inedible and kitchen manger was very unprofessional and rude when asked to remake meal. Front office staff very snobby and not professional. Healthcare team and “owner” were also very rude and condescending. Would not recommend investing money into this community for loved one. Tour was rushed and questions not answered. Observed resident yelling for help and being ignored by healthcare stating “it’s normal” lazy staff across the board.

We really liked the Halsted place. We also know people who have put their loved ones in this community and they are very happy, it was just too far for us. It is a good choice for anyone looking, though.

Everything is going fine with my mother at this community. She seems to have adjusted well to the community. It is a clean community, they keep everything very nice and well-kept. The staff is good, they are helpful and kind. There are nice activities offered through out the week. The food is good and she enjoys the meals. It has been a good experience.

Overall it's wonderful. I don't think my mom could be happier. The workers are friendly and helpful. The owners are very friendly and cooperative. Very homey feel. We were allowed to paint moms apartment before we moved her in. We wanted a different color than they were going to paint it. They prepped the whole place so I just had to paint it. All new flooring was put in too. Mom was very stressed and anxious about the move but after said it was the best thing we could have done. She has dementia and is very forgetful and can get quite confused. The nursing aides there are wonderful to her and keep her relaxed and happy. They come and get her for activities and keep her involved. Her health, physically and mentally, has improved since the move. The hallways look a bit beat up hence my 4 stars on cleanliness, but considering all the walkers and wheelchairs I guess it's not surprising. A HUGE load was lifted off my shoulders after this move and I sleep much better knowing mom is in good hands. I hope to never have to move her. She would be so upset to leave.

We are very satisfied with Halsted Place for our Mom. Very friendly people, nice and clean, and great food. Mom hasn't been there long, but so far, so good, and she is only 10 minutes from us. Thank you A Place for Mom for helping us find this place!

There's some good things and there are some things that I think could be improved [removed] 1. it seems like the office personel don't communiate well with each other, so when you speak to one it doesn't get passed along well to the right person. The apartmens are nice, they're freshly painted, clean, nice carpets, not too big but we were expecting that. I have to say some of the common areas do look somewhat worn, I do think they're clean but they're in need of more upkeep. It seems like they have the same activities everyday of the week, there don't seem to be a lot of variance. Another complaint would be their bus transportation to shopping, they go to all very large, costco type stores and it's hard for my mom and other seniors to get around in such a big store in only an hour. But other than that the food is good, she's started to make friends. It's pretty reasonably priced, it's location is convinient and overall its not bad

I have my own car so I don't do a lot of activities and I don't need any care but the place is very nice. The tour convinced me to move in, its a beautiful, beautiful building. It's a place I can see myself being in for a long time and I am very pleased.
