My mom fell and laid on the floor for 10 hours and no one ever checked on her and they knew she hadn't been down for her meals, I found her myself at 4:30 pm, and almost had to break the door down because there couldn't find the master key. The staff at the front desk are not helpful at all. I would tell others to do their due diligence and talk to other folks there, it's a somewhat nice facility, but they don't take care of things in the apts, and the food is less than

I think the community is pretty good, and overall it has been an amazing experience. I believe that the genuine kindness and care are the top things you don't find in to many communities. The communication of financial status should be a little more organized but overall the community is great

We picked this community because of the location and the beautiful grounds and apartments. Our experience overall has been great. There have been many staff changes. My mom loves the apartment and is doing so much better than living alone. I would like to see them incorporate more fun activities. Like movies or joke nights. They always need to laugh and I find that the residents love too and look for any reason. Thanks for your help. I'm hoping that Sagora puts some capital into keeping it maintained. There are many washing machines out of order that they have said will be replaced going on year now. I am hoping the rent does not go up 10 percent every year but lower than 5 percent as promised.

We picked this community because, the apartment size was the best. They need more help, and the front desk ladies don't really help much, also if they need medical attention let people know how to sign up for that, no one seems to know. Also the maintenance needs more help, we have had a work order in for over two months. They need to improve on the food menu, some places have a restaurant style menu and they have a bunch of things they can pick from, not just two items the chef picks. I don't think this is good for the residents especially if they can't eat what is being fixed

Right now, there is no maintenance. They're trying to hire somebody. I like the people and everything is fine, except for the maintenance. We've lived her for 2.5 months, and our dryer does not work. Our window won't shut, so we have tape across it to prevent the outside air from coming in. We were told we'd get shelving, but that has not happened. Our refrigerator went out and when they delivered the new one, it had food in it. They told us we would have a new refrigerator with an ice maker, but there isn't one. So we had to go out and buy ice trays. Ice trays aren't that expensive, but it's just we're the ones having to fix issues. There was no toilet lid or seat, so my husband found a toilet sitting out somewhere; he took the toilet seat off of it and put it on ours. We opened the door one day and the handle fell off. We had no keys until about three weeks ago, so our door was open to anybody. Our renters insurance person was quite upset that we didn't have any type of protection. In the bathroom, the place where the tile meets the carpeting was lifting. The carpeting itself is lifting up and coming out from the piece that's put across to separate and put it down. I haven't reported it because I feel that nothing gets done. I love it here and I wouldn't move anywhere else, but the maintenance is terrible. They have two maintenance people, but we have 137 units and that's not just enough. I realize that they had an influx of residents who moved in, which put a lot of pressure on their staff. They said they are hiring another "temporary" maintenance person, but they need to resolve these issues. The food is absolutely great. For activities, they have everything from going out to the see the capital, to exercise and movies. They have a person where if you're having trouble with your phone, as most seniors do, you can go down and talk to him and he will help you with any problems. We have not been able to take advantage of that because we're still trying to get settled.

Our family had an in person tour and the staff were very nice and we really liked the director. We were able to have a meal and the food is great but everything was just to far in terms of walking
Everything is great here, we are happy. My husband has come around, as he didn't want to leave home. All around I think he likes it just fine. Everything is going well; the food is good, the people are wonderful and so friendly. We really like the place, it's very good. It was also a good and easy move. They had Senior Transition that works with Elison quite a bit, so that was perfect. They put up our pictures and put everything where it was supposed to go. They're not with the facility, but they played into the facility to help with the delivery of our things. So it all worked out really well!

We did a virtual tour with this community and it was very nice. The tour was good and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They answered all of our questions and gave us lots of information to consider.
I would tell others that compared to other communities in Oklahoma and Colorado it is about half the cost. Embark has an indoor pool that is therapeutic temperature. The communication is okay with the staff.

My loved one says the staff is great and has never heard a cross word from any of them. My mom likes the food and they have activities going on. I would love to live if I could. I would recommend this community to others.

This place is right on the lake. Nice size appartments, but limit on size of dogs, like 22-23 lbs. Tipsy is like 47 lbs. This used to be Brookdale, so don't know what they have in mind for the future.

My mom is doing okay now that she is finding activities that she likes. She has been getting more involved. The room is nice and my mom is happy with it too. The only thing is the financial part, they keep sending a wrong bill.

I have not made the move out into this community but I am very much looking forward to it. The staff have been very understanding with my situation and helping me get ready for the transition. I am pleased with my experience working with them so far and am looking forward to my future at this place.

This is a nice community, and my tour of it went very well. The community looked nice, and everything appeared to be well-kept. The staff I met was kind. My questions were answered, and they were informative as well. It was a great experience, this is a really nice facility. It came down to budget, and I did find another community that suited our budget better.

When I toured the Brookdale Statesman Club was very nice. When I toured the place was clean and the staff was all very friendly. The main reason I chose another community was because it was an older place and it was in need of an update.

in general this place is fine. It's safe and clean. However, since meal time is one of the most important times of the day for this population, this is a 0 in my book. My mother lives here and i have eaten with her. The food is not good and the portions are very small. They often tell you that you can't have something additional like a slice of bread or something that is missing from the salad bar. They ask for feedback but nothing gets changed. They have a brunch on sundays. if you go to church and don't get back until 12:15 or so, you will miss out. food is picked over and sometimes they won't fix you an omelet etc. They don't do a good job of replenishing things. So if you aren't there at the beginning you miss out. The rent isn't bad when you start but then they raise it from 8-10%. They will tell you they can accommodate dr. appts but you can only go on certain days and then you have to be willing to wait sometimes up to an hour for them to pick you up. They also take people who are not independent. i've seen folks who need to be in memory care. I realize some may be independent when they start there but they take some at the beginning who are not appropriate.

The statesmen is very clean, the staff was informative in showing us all the amenities available. We have had several friends that spent time at this facility. They are setup for many activities for the patrons. The layout of the rooms was very good. It seemed very clean and the dining room was clean and well organized. The cost could escalate quickly with personal care options. The price of the units seem to be consistent with other facilities.

A Place for Mom has scored Elison of Statesman Club 7.3 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
