I would tell them that the nursing staff is top notch! I've heard about not so great experiences at other assisted living communities , but they do their best here for sure! Nothing is ever perfect, but it's never going to be!

There was limited care. Most aids spoke in their native language. We had to hire a private 12 hr nurse to dress and care for my mother. Doctors did not listen when I said my mother had a UTI. It went on for 2.5 weeks. She was hospital for 11 days with sepsis. We moved my mom when hospice was involved. We repeated tried to reach nurses at night and got a VM. One morning my mom was laying on the floor. We saw on the camera and had to keep calling. They have good directors, but not staff who actually watch your loved ones.

Discovery is beautiful and clean with an outstanding staff. My mother is happy, well looked after and safe. The nursing staff is caring and kind. It’s everything we could ask for in a retirement community. The grounds are beautifully maintained. The pond is peaceful and a restful place to relax and enjoy nature. We are grateful to be a part of this wonderful facility. Thank you for what you do.

I would tell others if they are having difficulty getting their parent to accept memory Care from assisted living this is an easy transition. It feels like a standalone assisted living facility because they break the residents up into cognitive levels so they are not exposed to the low functioning residence if they have some function still They were the perfect fit for our mother and we appreciate the recommendation from A Place for Mom.

My loved one currently resides at Discovery Village at Stuart and everything has been very good so far. The move in process was smooth and they were very accommodating. The meals seem to be very good quality. At one time, there was an issue with laundering even though my loved one's clothes were labeled. My loved one's room is cleaned weekly with daily trash removal, making of bed and tidying up. Overall, the facility is very clean. If I want to talk with my loved one, I call the nurses station and they get him. Sometimes he even calls me, which is so nice. The head nurse during the day is very easy to communicate with. I either text or call and she gets back to me pretty quickly. The Director of Nursing, Director of Activities and Executive Director are all amazing with communication. Any time I have a question or concern, they respond right away. The Activities Director is amazing at her job. She gets my loved one and others involved. She threw a wonderful Fall party wih games, food and entertainment. She put a lot of work into it and it showed. We all had a great time! She's really good at sending pictures of your loved one participating in activities and outings. also. It's comforting to see them involved. The only problem I have is with the night time staff checking on my loved one every 2 hours as they said they would. Speaking with others who have family members in Memory Care, this is a problem all over and not just at Discovery Village. I addressed this concern and they took action. Not saying it's perfect, but it's getting better. Regardless of what facility your loved one is in, you have to be on top of everything! They need someone to advocate for them and you can't let things slide. Overall, the experience has been very good. If there's an issue, they respond quickly and take care of it. I would recommend Discovery Village at Stuart to others!

We had an in person tour with Discovery Village at Stuart and the tour experience was fine, but it ultimately came down to another community that just blew us away and there was no comparison.
[name removed] at Discovery Village was super helpful. Any time I called her for any questions she always returned my calls. I was very happy working with her. Everyone I dealt with is super friendly. They go way beyond their duties to help you out when picking an assisted living for someone

We experience assisted living and memory care. I am rating them overall a 4 - but there were some people who were outstanding. New management had just came in and were making changes, but we were not there long enough to see them happen. Some of the stuff we were giving feedback on they were paying attention to and making those improvements. We loved the apartment layouts, especially in assisted living. That was important for my mom so she could feel like she was in her own place. The director of the memory care unit [name removed] we worked a lot with her and she was very good, we were happy with her. I would definitely feel comfortable recommending them as an option for care.

I would recommend that you double check to make sure that your loved one meets the requirements for the community's service level. I found that my loved one detreated quickly and the community wasn't able to meet the needs that my loved one needed support in. The Director was good at returning my calls and giving me the attention when answering my questions or concerns.

We like how Discovery Village is built next to a preserve so nothing will be built up around them or torn down, super nice surroundings. They have a pool which was a huge selling point of our loved one. The staff were very helpful in the beginning. Our loved one really enjoys their meals and dining service.

This is a very friendly and clean community for your loved one. They have a lot of activities at this community like physical fitness, outings, movies, music coming in and trips to the store and more for the residents to do to have a good time and stay active. The staff for the most part bend over backwards to take care of the residents. However, sometimes the communication between nursing and the other staff is not the best but they are trying their hardest to accommodate everyone's needs.

A Place for Mom has scored Discovery Village at Stuart 9.3 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
