My brother is a long term patient here and in the beginning it was hard for him , he had a brain injury so he did not understand a lot, wasn't eating or talking , he has come a long way in a year and a half despite his challenges and he seems comfortable there. He had a few nurses that he really like , [name removed] is his favorite and he says he is not sure what he would do without her. Most of the staff are very nice and caring, it's a tough job, you have to be a little patient and everything works out.... Read more

I do not have a peace of mind with my Father being placed at Deptford Center. We had no choice since he was being discharged from the hospital. My Mother is sick and can no longer take care of my Father. My Father has Dementia. We are a very active family and try to ensure someone is there everyday. However we work and it is hard to be there at key times. Food- never gets whats on his menu. He does have a great nutriti, however if the kitchen/cook staff does not put the food on the tray what can you do. Also they do not ensure they wake him up to eat. They just leave the tray and take it within less then 10-15 minutes. Catheter- Major concern. They never empty it. I have signs in the room and freak out every time it is full. I already have a mother getting dialysis. Water- they tell you to fill the water up in the bathroom. Never no water at night. Night time/weekend staff -choose to sleep and hide behind the wheel chairs and sleep. They had the nerve to shut the hallway ligh

The aides were helping and the nurses were helpful. The floor manager immediately addressed my concerns. It is a little overwhelming, there are a lot of patients in need.

The staff are trying hard with their service though I have found it difficult to get return calls from people when I leave messages.

Getting into the center was very good but we have to ask two or three times for things to get done.

The staff is fine at Deptford Center. The nursing care has been okay. As long as he is getting his medications and the right amount of attention, that is what matters most. I have noticed that everyone is busy. Sometimes my loved one feels like when he asks a question he is bothering them because they are so busy. It can take a while to get to him something when he asks. It is too early to say whether or not I would recommend them to a friend.

From what I can see the experience with Deptford Center is going very well. My loved one hasn't complained about anything including the nursing care. Everything seems like it is being done properly. I have visited her there a few times and I noticed that everybody speaks to you when you walk and they smile. It can be kind of a depressing situation to have to go to a facility but the welcoming staff sure helps.

Everybody is nice, I was a little surprised about the quarters they stay in. It's not very homey it's more like hospital setting, but everyone is nice and they try to make it pleasant.

A Place for Mom has scored Deptford Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing 5.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
