Our experience at D and P

The owner is very friendly, has three homes, which are ran by family members. Not the owner. However, all the family members are not well-equipped to provide care for clients. Their children are the workers and they don't really know how to care for seniors. They only allow you to come visit your family by appointment. There are no activities. They can arrange for some outings and some in home entertainment to come at least every other week. Food should be variety and able to cook specialty diets

My Tour Experience at D & P Special Needs Center

The owner seemed to be very friendly, caring, organized and easy to talk to. The community was too far from family, and not the right fit for our loved one.

There's not a lot for them to do activity wise. One caregiver, [name removed], is amazing. They are a bit pricier than others I've seen but they do really care about their patients. And everything is spotless.

Peace of Mind. A quality environment run by very caring people.

From start to finish, they are friendly, reassuring, and professional. They have personal investment in each of the residents. They make all of the food from scratch, and they do a good job of keeping the residents engaged. I feel like it's a great value. They do not raise their rates when a resident becomes more impaired, and they include incontinence products in the cost of care. Those products alone are very expensive, so that adds a lot of value.

This Place was a Gift from God

[name removed] is the best! They are respectful to the family and residents. My loved one loved it here. They always put my loved one first, and was very accommodating. My loved one was at peace and relaxed by being there. The food was homemade. It truly felt like a home. This was [name removed]'s passion, and you could tell. It was more than you could ask for, for a loved one.

Family atmosphere ideal for Alzheimer's patient

My mom was a resident at D & P Special Needs Center for the last 2 years of her life. The center was the ideal place for my mom who had advanced Alzheimer's disease. The small family atmosphere made life less hectic and stressful for her. We had mom in a larger facility but the care was very inconsistent and the size was overwhelming for a person with Alzheimer's disease. The owner and staff at D & P cared for my mom as they would care for a family member. Mom was always clean, well-fed and well cared for. Support staff was also available--nurses, doctors, physical therapists came to the house as needed. My sister and I were extremely touched when at our mother's passing the owner and staff member on duty were also in tears. My family was comforted at knowing our mom spent her last years in such loving care.

The Perfect Option for Our Family

My Father John was cared for by [Removed] and her team of caregivers. I can't say enough good things about D & P Special Needs Center. I was first drawn to the positive energy I felt when I spoke to [Removed]. I knew my father would be in good hands under her care. The home was immaculate, the care was kind, intuitive, attentive and professional. The family atmosphere provided is a real plus in helping a resident feel at home. The care team helped to support us through this difficult step in our family life. We will be forever grateful.

very pleased

I am very pleased with D & P Special Needs Center. It is extremely clean. I thought it was sweet and charming that the staff paint my moms nails. I just thought that was such a special thing for them to do. They try to keep my mother stimulated. She does not participate in activities and they are sensitive to that and don't push her too much. I cant see that there is anything for them to improve on here.

Absolutely great. A perfect fit for my mom.

I could not be more pleased with the care my elderly mother with dementia received at D&P. There was always someone nearby to respond to her needs and requests. She was genuinely happy there. The Petrascu family and their hired caregivers love their residents like family. They are great at solving problems with creative and loving solutions. The visiting doctor was readily available. The food was great. I can't think of one thing to complain about. Maybe not the right home for someone who is still going to Bingo and doing those kind of activities, but for a less able person it is a wonderful setting.
