Canfield Care Manor

Our experience so far with Canfield Care Manor we think they could improve on more individualized care for their residents .They owner definitely is in it for the business and not for the residents.

Canfield home was very nice. The gentleman I spoke to did not live in the house. The bedrooms were adequate and living area large enough to accomodate their residents. Large back area with wildlife.

Please stay clear of this this place. My mother arrived there the end of [date removed]. And was dead [date removed]. Less than 4 months later. Along with 3 or 4 other patients. (FARMINGTON HILLS POLICE HAVE THE NUMBERS) They deprived her of oxygen. Which should have been on at all times. My mother turned into a Zombie after that. [name removed] as well as all the other employees are not skilled. This could have been prevented. [name removed] the owner could not cared less. He lives 50 miles away. And only cares about the money. He pretends to be caring. Once you sign on the dotted line. A cruel cold hearted person he became. Morc a government run agency as well as Hospice told me to tape as much as I can. I recorded my daily phone calls with them as well. Saved every text between [name removed] and I. Please find a caring loving person (residence) for your loved one. As for [name removed]'s review. She barely visited my mom. Left her penniless. THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER OPTIONS. BEWARE ??

Our experience could of been a little bit better, and there was no activities. while our loved one was there, she had a shared room with another patient which gave her very limited space, However, the care takers were wonderful.

My mom was at Canfield in FH for 4 months. The care givers working there were so kind and loving to my mom. They are the hardest working staff and try to give all their residents the exact care they need. The facility was always spotless and the meals all home made and good. It takes special people like the gals at Canfield to offer this to our elderly. I was very pleased with the care my mom received.

Please do not send a loved one to this facility. They claim they are skilled. They are not. My mom arrived there the end of August. I live out of state. And called the facility daily. Within a month my mother was near death. I was speaking to my mother on the phone and she was wheezing and talking gibberish. I became alarmed. Asked to speak with the aide I told her my mom sounds strange. Is her oxygen on? Does she have a UTI? She ignored my sentiments. Ignored my mother’s medical orders THAT OXYGEN MUST BE ON AT ALL TIMES. NOT. I REPEAT NOT AS NEEDED. Hence, she developed Hypoxia. Was near death when a hospice nurse was called in on a Sunday. Due to oxygen deprivation. She almost died then. Hospice explained to [name removed]. The owner of Canfield Care Manor this was very serious. And she was close to death. Due to this oxygen deprivation. My mother was never the [removed] Huge red flags daily from this place. She went in there. Able to talk, recognize people, Tell you about her passions. And within a month she was bedridden. A zombie.. [name removed] the owner. Only cares about the money. He gives you a snowjob. Pretends to be a kind caring soul. It all changes when you sign on the dotted line. My mother passed away 3 weeks ago. [Name removed] never called to send his condolences. I hope this helps anyone reading this. To find an authentic loving, skilled CARE home for their loved one. I believe 3 people died there. NOT including my mother in 4 months. Stay clear of this place! They do not care! They are NOT SKILLED!
