I'm so grateful I found CountryHouse Folsom for my Mama, and for [name removed] help from A Place for Mom! I found one other place that felt & looked comparable but it was more expensive & primarily assisted living. I love that CountryHouse is dedicated memory care & feel it has made a huge difference in my Mom's care. She has dementia but is physically able still & this facility feels much more like a home than a clinical facility, the feeling we got from other sites we visited. They do have activities each day but I wish there was a bit more options for the more physically independent like my Mom. I also realize it's a challenging environment to cater to everyone's daily needs & desires so I they do a really good job. My Mom raves about how kind the staff are & the place is always very clean every time I'm there. The pricing is tough for anyone new to this space & I was really shocked by the "community fee" required up front. I was able to negotiate that down a bit with CountryHouse which made a huge difference for my family! They also offer an "all inclusive" pricing option if your family member is at care level 1 or 2 which my Mom is. This means we pay a bit higher price for her care plan but we have locked in that price for her entire stay there. If her condition worsens or she has another medical event requiring higher level of care, our cost doesn't increase. This allowed us to budget better for the long term. While not all families are as engaged as I am, I do wish there was a bit more communication with me on the medical side of things (following up after a doctor visit, checking on her medications, hearing about any new symptoms, etc.). But when it comes to managing the care for 45 or so residents, I believe they do a great job. The food is really good & there's only been a few times my Mom was given something she didn't like or couldn't chew (she doesn't have all her teeth). Overall, CountryHouse has been a Godsend to my family! To be fair, my Mom's long term care policy is the true blessing, as we would not have been able to afford this level of care without it, and I am so grateful for it & for the wonderful staff at CountryHouse.... Response from CountryHouse at Folsom
September 24, 2024Debi, thank you so much for your five-star review of CountryHouse in Folsom. We appreciate it and will share your feedback with our team!
Our loved ones room is not very well taken care of when it comes to the cleanliness. Mom doesn't like the food Not sure how to rate the overall value for cost. It's a wonderful place but very expensive. If mom didn't have her long term care insurance, she wouldn't be able to afford it. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families.

When I toured, the facility was too new. They did not even have all of their licensing yet which I found frustrating because they could not even tell me what they would be all about. They had some residents there, but I just did not want to be the guinea pig.

A Place for Mom has scored CountryHouse at Folsom 8.6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
