My family and loved one have had a great experience with Charter House. The staff work very hard to satisfy the residents. Their communication with the family and residents is awesome and frequent to keep us updated. Everyone seems to be friendly. This is a community we would recommend to others for their loved ones.

If I could give this place a negative 10 review I would. My father in law passed away and since we were out of town, it took us a few days to get there. The manager [name removed] assured us no one was in the apt. However, when we got there all of his jewelry was missing along with several other items including cash. We knew for a fact it was there because he told us. Also, this [name removed] guy assured my wife and I we would get the deposit back and low and behold, nothing. After several attempts to contact him, he finally sent me a text saying he would call back after the holidays. He has since ghosted us and I now have consulted an attorney. He even refuse to give me his mailing address to send a certified letter. If you value your loved ones, please stay away from the Charter House, Bucknell Apartments or any other facility that is managed by [name removed]. During our initial face to face meeting, he exhibited all of the nervous "I don't want to get caught" signs.

The common areas at Charter House were always relatively clean. We have never had a bad experience with the staff. They do not provide any food at this community to my knowledge The community is an ok value for the price. The building itself is a bit dated.

Nice building, as visitor no way to get in unless someone see you and let you in. Also, no parking and for tenants it's a additional $100/monthly. The only unit available at the time of my visit was on the 12th floor and I wasn't interested. The unit was very nice... staff very nice and professional, me personally would prefer not to live in the heart of the city. [name removed]

Living/dining area a nice size, closet for coats. The building must be in transition because the bulding is really old. I notice some powder around the outside of two doors on the same floor.

We had a lovely tour of this community. Everything looked great, and very well-kept. Everyone was very kind, and friendly to my family and I. The experience was a good one. The location was just a little to far for our families to travel too.

Everything is working out well for my grandmother here at these senior apartments. The community is well maintained and the grounds look great. Everybody has been great and very friendly. The location is a good one, she is in a good area of town. Overall I'am satisfied and I would recommend these senior apartments.

Activities have mostly been terminated. An exercise class and a monthly birthday are all that is left of the wonderful activities four years ago. There is no full-time housekeeping. Two cleaning contractors come for about two hours a day. Residents complain that the new office staff are not respectful or friendly. The elegant small, private dining room has been turned into an office for the Residents Services Coordinator, who coordinates few services and no management-sponsored outside activities, which we haven't had in six years. If you want to be happy in your senior years, do not come here.By the way, the room in the photo either doesn't exist, or does not look like this anymore.

A Place for Mom has scored Charter House 9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
