Staff are friendly & helpful. I really like the Executive Director, the gal at the front desk, & the business manager-they're all really friendly & helpful. Sometimes communication seems a little lacking-I think that may have more to do with some recent staff turnover. The common areas of the facility still look pretty nice, but they're starting to look a little tired-particularly the carpet. They've told me they have funds for upgrades. They seem to keep everything clean. My Mom's room is quite nice & was clean. The common area is well designed with a large volume, overlooks from above, & plenty of daylighting-quite lovely really. Unfortunately they keep the dining doors to outside alarmed, so residents don't use the beautiful grounds outside much as they're forced to go out the main entry. Food is edible, but they're not going to win any awards for it. Overall, my Mom seems reasonably happy there. But, I think it's a bit spendy for what you get.... Read more

It has been a very smooth transition from Mom's home into Cascades. The staff is very kind and helpful and it gives me peace of mind that my mom is well cared for and safe. She has made a lot of friends which has been so good for her. I like that the facility isn't too big or too small.

Inconsistencies mostly due to understaffing. Mom seems to like the employees, no complaints. She mentioned lots of turnover with activities director position. My experience with the staff has been very positive. If they can add a "drive" once a week when the weather allows, I think they would appreciate it. A different view from what they get daily would help their mental state.

My loved one is currently a resident at Cascades of Stayton and the experience has been great. The cleanliness and friendliness are great. The team, the entire staff are great. Based on our experience, I would recommend this facility to others.

I have been here for a year and have not had my windows washed at all after many requests. We were snowed in for a week this winter and there was no plan as to how to deliver food to the cottages. Thankfully, a policy has been put in place now. We never have been reimbursed for the 3 meals a day that were paid for. The staff is great, friendly, and helpful. The director, however, always has an excuse and doesn't follow through. This facility has mostly assisted living people and the independent have to fight to be included. I think if I needed more care this place would be okay, but would not be my first choice. I'm moving to a different facility next month.

They are filling up really quickly. And seem to be overwhelmed. They are short staffed, particularly in the dining room. The activity director is out having a baby and the substitute gets pulled from her job to help with residents. The new owners have had this place for less than two years and they seem like they're still getting it together. But they are trying really seriously hard. And they're very forthright when asked what is going on. I would recommend it to others.

The dining room was horrible, and the floors were dirty. It was a very small apartment, and was expensive. The Director needs a new attitude, and does not seem to care about the needs of the residents. Maintenance was horrible, and they had black mold in the water in system. The problem was never addressed. The food was either undercooked or overcooked.

I thought the Cascades was great, friendly, competent staff, and clean. I found [name removed] to be exceptional she cares about where she works, putting her best foot forward and she truly cares about her clients she went above and beyond several times for me.

The people are really friendly within community. The interaction wth the staff is very poor, and there is lack of communication. It takes forever to get something fixed. The meals are horrible, and is not always hot, fully cooked and burned. It takes forever to get food sometimes. They don't keep the resdents, too invloved with activities. It is very expensive.

Extremely rude receptionist. Didn't help us at all or let us know that the person we were looking for had moved and told us to leave. Very disappointed.

We never actually moved my dad into here because they were not able to sustain higher levels of care, but the ratings are based off of what our experience with them was. I liked the homeyness and coziness of the place. It is relatively small facility with really good staff members.

The biggest attraction for us to this location was the outside. My father in law loves being outside and there seemed to have quite a bit of outside roaming area for him to walk and spend time outside. My in laws seem to be adjusting well. They are doing some of the activities and meeting new people. The food is not what they have been used to but they are getting used to it and starting to like it. The staff has been very nice and helpful.

I think like any other place, this Brookdale is understaffed. The caregivers and staff are very good, they seem to care but I don't know if I would recommend the people in the from office. They will say anything to get you into their community.

This community seemed to be going through a transitional period. There was some staff turnovers under the new management. The staff I met seemed involved with the residents. I liked this community. The community has potential, however the rooms were small. The community was clean and the grounds are beautiful.

Mom is doing pretty well since moving into Brookdale Stayton. I stayed with her for a week when we moved her into the community. The food was good, however the residents had to wait over an hour to be served. My mom told me the administrator left but I have not been able to verify this. I live out of state and have to handle things on the phone. I am also having issues with the billing and I am waiting for the office manager to follow through on correcting this issue.

The food at Emeritus at Lakeside and Lakeside Cottages is exceptionally well! They were very welcoming to my mom, introducing her around, and getting her included in the community right away. Mom is really happy there. This has exceeded our expectations by a thousand percent! We thought mom would not like it, but she loves it. We looked at a lot of places and definitely made the right choice in Emeritus at Lakeside and Lakeside Cottages.
