Carson Tahoe Expressions Memory Care

I would recommend it to others.

From the first day we toured the facility two years ago to present, my opinion has not changed about the care provided by Expressions. I toured several facilities for my mom who is in advanced stages of Alzheimer's and Expressions was significantly superior. The facility is clean. Beds are made every day and bathrooms and common areas are always sanitary. We are consistently warmly welcomed during visits. The residents are showered, well groomed and in clean clothing. When we first moved mom in, she was scared, they took the time to calm her and redirect her. They provide activities, manicures, crafts, sing a longs and outdoor walks and outings. Although we don't eat meals there, we go often during dinner time and the food is above average. I highly recommend Expressions for anyone who is in the position of needing a safe, caring place for their loved one.

Mom is very happy, playing her piano with all her friends. The staff do not wear name tags so mom thinks they are all her friends. The staff is extremely helpful and caring for my mom. Very easy access to get in by ringing the doorbell and entering the front door. There’s always somebody to take you to the elevator to let you go upstairs to the second floor. The building is very clean and well kept. It’s wonderful to see all the residents sitting together, watching a movie or listening to music. They do not hang out in their rooms because they enjoy being together. It’s nice to know that my mom is happy and in a safe place.

There are many aspects of CTEMC unit that are excellent: the atmosphere of calm and peace, being able to walk around with many sitting rooms in which to relax, residents doing puzzles who love to share, the beautiful decorations and decor. The most superb of all are the caregivers. My visits are a struggle: my beloved spouse is declining mentally. This difficulty is greatly relieved by an amazing caregiver team who provide a very relaxing, warm and delightful atmosphere, with gentle guidance and redirection. The entire staff work hard to provide those who are so confused to smile and even giggle through their days. I'm very grateful.

I would say it is a nice facility. The facility is new and nice. The staff was wonderful and caring. Th only reason we moved our mother was due to low functioning residents that she. couldn't relate to. [name removed] and staff were all great!

The staff and the size of the place stood out to me about this facility. [name removed] was the person we dealt with in the start of this. She was amazing helping us with the transition and keeping us informed. Once there, all of the staff have been very informative and helpful. They provide laundry services and the lounge area has a place for snacks. I would definitely recommend Carson Tahoe Expressions Memory Care to others looking for a place for their loved ones with Dementia. It's hard enough choosing a place and [name removed] and staff were very compassionate and helpful. I never felt pressure from them to make the decision to go there, just guidance on getting help and care.

This is an awesome place to work.

If you place your loved one in the community with no intervention medically, this would be a great place. If your loved one has a lot of life left, this wouldn't be the right place for them. Most of the residents here are waiting to pass, in my opinion. The staff is lean in the community. The aides are very friendly, and management isn't as friendly to the family. There are not a lot of activities offered, most of the time the residents are sat in front of the TV or just the roam the halls. There hasn't been any entertainment, games, arts and crafts being participated in when we visit. The food needs more options for the residents to choose from, and the quality could be improved upon for the residents as well.

We went to see my sister in the memory care. The staff was extremely helpful. Unfortunately they are understaffed. For the amount of money that is paid for her care They don’t have someone to help her eat. She has lost a lot of weight. We wanted to find out how much she weighed But the PA not even a Dr said he didn’t have that info. Which was surprising. I know they don’t have a medical staff, but you would think they could do some vitals. The office coordinator was pretty rude, we had driven from Southern Calif. and she would only allow 2 of us to visit with her. And she made it clear that we were not to use her bathroom. If we wanted to use the bathroom we would have to use the one in the hallway, but then she stated we were not able to leave the room while visiting. 2 out of three of us were R.N ‘s We went there to cause problems just to visit.

After experiencing a tour I was pleasantly surprised to find a very new building. Staff was pleasant and smiling and the residents seemed busy with fun activities, painting and interacting. All of the rooms were very clean and orderly but looked personalized and comfortable.

There just wonderful here and I truly appreciate every thing they do here especially [name removed] and [name removed], but everybody is great here.

It's very clean, and the staff is very friendly. They try their hardest and are very nice people to deal with. We had little issues at first, but now we have all the snags worked out and are into a good routine. They have a lot of activities - music, movies, games. I think they do quite a bit with their residents.

If you love your Senior, do not put them in that facility. They served them tuna fish sandwiches and chips. Hello! Most seniors can't eat chips. They don't get out and have any sunshine upon them. In prison the inmates get yard once a day. My Mother hates it in there. I am afraid they will never lift this quarantine. Do you know how lonely those people must be? And they have one phone for a two-story building and all those patients. I think for five grand a month my mother should have her own phone. I have often called and let the phone ring 50 times and finally gave up.

If you are looking for caring people to be around your loved one this is a good place they will look after them. But that is as far as it goes. Your loved one will no longer see any sunshine, will not be hugged or loved on oh, because they have to go by strict rules of the coronavirus. if you think that they are doing anything to rehabilitate your loved one's memory so that they may go home, it's not going to happen here. To put it bluntly your loved one will walk in and they will come out in a body bag. That is what the truth is and I was told by a staff member that's pretty much how it runs. They do nothing to improve their diet to support brain function, they don't play memory games, most of them lay in their beds all day and watch TV. They get fed three meals a day and everyone eats the same thing. They don't see the sun, which is very important. Do you know why Alaska has the greatest write rate of suicide? It's because there is no light. What do you think is happening to be seniors. It disgusts me if you ask me. They're charging most people about five grand a month to have their Elder in there and they can't even afford to buy a second phone. They have one phone for all those patients. Where is all the money going? If you can take care of your loved one at home or do something different, I would. unless you want your elderly person's demise to be going out in a body bag

my review is based on communication with an individual who identified themselves as management. Unfortunately, in trying to gather information on my parent's status while using my pleasant professional skills when speaking on the phone to management (nurse) w regard to updates and determining regular contact w my father I was met (via a phone call) with a curt and at best semi-professional member of management who literally would did offer any help. I had to pull information from her. In stating my own professional title and sharing with her trying to collaborate a plan so that I could communicate with my father (seeing that I'm not living in the same state) I was completely offset and completely unimpressed with her especially based on the position she holds...I wishing her a credentials. There was no indication that she wanted to be of help, there was no indication that she was even listening to me as I had to repeat myself and certainly there was no compassion, empathy or professional attitude involved if she is acting in the role of nurse / social worker. She needs to go back and polish those skills up! She was completely biased and unhelpful. However, the staff underneath her were pleasant, professional and a joy to talk with. I PRAY she is NOT the standard.
