It's a great place. We picked this community because my son lives 3 miles from facility. It's newer, very clean, and easy for my mom to have visitors. The staff is always very nice. t's a great place overall . I know my mom is in great hands.

November 15, 2024Hi, we are very happy we could provide you with a positive experience! Your recommendation means so much to us and we're so happy to have earned it. Thank you again for taking the time to let the world know about your positive experience. Have a great day!
Cadence is a beautiful place. My husband's room is bright and sunny. Unfortunately, the staffing shortage means that on occasion, some tasks are overlooked. I have had to change my husband's pull-ups several times because he's soaked through his pants and the bed. One day I actually had to remove all the bedclothes, including the comforter, because they were soaked with urine. I then remade the bed myself with fresh linens. When I told the Memory Care Director, she was apologetic and said "you shouldn't have had to do that." But there was nobody else around to do it! There was a time when my husband fell out of bed and I found out two days later. It's just been all around a disappointing experience. The staff is pleasant and friendly. There's just not enough of them.

May 10, 2024Hello Cheryl! We wanted to echo our Memory Care Director's statement - you shouldn't have to do that. We are so thankful for you and your husband and will continue to work to improve. Thank you so much for your patience during this transitional period and please know that we are doing everything we can to address the issue. - Cadence at Olney
Mom seems happy. We have not gotten everything we were promised and the staff changes often but overall it's a great place. They need to work on communication between residents and family. it was a new facility and beautiful clean spaces.

They've had leadership changes which have made for some rocky experiences but overall the care partners and employees are wonderful and truly care about their residents. There's also a bit of a Greek community now in memory care with several residents that speak Greek which might be important for someone with a Greek background. Obviously that's not set in stone but I do think worth mentioning

Prospective memory care residents and families should ask lots of questions and request tours during activity and meal times. Food needs to be simpler and contain much less salt. That's why there are salt shakers on tables! As far as the care, very simply, they need more staff, and in memory care, staff trained to work with residents who have dementia and Alzheimer's. What is given now is mostly adult day care.

Cadence was not staffed or prepared for the residents from [name removed] They just hired an activities director but hadn't started yet...no activities...residents only watch TV.

My loved one is currently a resident at Cadence at Olney and everything has been very good for her at this facility so far. The cleanliness and friendliness are great. The care services, the staff, meals and dining and activities have been good. The value for cost is good. Really, everything has been good. I would definitely recommend Cadence at Olney to family and friends.

When it comes to the meals and dining service, I haven't eaten anything and my family member hasn't really said anything about it. It would've been helpful to have more information on what to expect with your family member when they move in, how to help the adjustment, etc. Overall though, the community is very nice and the people are friendly

I don't really have anything to compare it with, but it seems to be a good value so far. [name removed] is getting good care and his attitude has definitely improved since being here. The staff is very responsive and accommodating to requests and suggestions that we may have. The facility is also in a beautiful and peaceful location. I was looking for a place where my husband and I could be close together, him in memory care and me in independent living. We have found that here.

My grandmother has been living here since last Spring when they first opened. We have had nothing but trouble from the beginning; inedible food, forgetting to order medicine (they do not allow you to get your prescriptions from anywhere else), forgetting to distribute medicine, a complete lack of response from the staff, to name a few... My grandmother is not mobile and we pay for the additional care that she needs through a plan with Cadence but she is not getting that care. She is currently in the hospital after *another* fall that could've been avoided if the staff had responded in a timely manner. Sitting around for 2 hours waiting for help to get to bed is unacceptable. Sitting on the toilet for an hour waiting for help is unacceptable.

As with any new business, there have been adjustments. Cadence was just bought by a Canadian company. I would say that the adjustments are calming down, and we are happy about the changes.

Cadence at Olney was a very nice place. This was my second choice and it was a hard decision for me to make. It is an absolutely beautiful facility and they had really nice apartments too.
