Brookdale Vero Beach South AL

It is a very comfortable place. And the dining was good. The staff was really good too. My only concern were the services offered vs what was quoted and charged. We signed up for hygiene and routine apt cleaning. My father stayed there 3 months. Over time I noticed that these 2 services were very poor. If long term care for my father is necessary I may look around but overall would consider them again.

I would say they are a great community and I would recommend them; however, their care plan pricing is very high and it is because of that that I scored them low on value for cost. I do think that the care the residents are receiving is very good, however.

I would recommend to others. We picked this community because of the friendliness and openness with the staff.

The staff is wonderful. Honestly they appear short staffed, but everyone here is so nice and helpful. The only thing I would add is that they do have housekeeping, but it could use a bit of improvement. Additionally the food is a bit bland and commercialized, but I understand they are cooking large amounts for elderly so I suspect that is pretty common.

Overall, a very nice place. Nice common areas and dining. Staff were great. Access in and out of the building could get tricky on the weekends. And room cleaning could be more frequent.

Overall have been very pleased for the most part with the care my loved one gets here. There is always room for improvement in small areas, the food could use healthier options and more choices. Activities I would like to see some improvement on as well. The staff is very caring, polite and attentive.

It is not a big big operation so the staff are able to get a lot of personalized care. The manager [name removed] has just been fantastic. The staff really do care about our loved one and the other residents there. For everything that is offered and the quality of the care the value for the money is good. Our loved one really enjoys the music and singing and we would recommend them to other families

The only issue we have had is that some of their Covid guidelines were not always followed. This has changed and they are doing much better now. I would absolutely recommend this community to others. the community is small and all on one floor so there are no elevators or stairs.

The community makes an effort to make the activities available for the memory care unit and to keep the residents engaged. My loved one is in the memory care unit. The activities can be hard in a group environment. The community has really worked with my loved one on a one-on-one environment. They found that my loved one enjoyed golfing, and they have set up a putting area for her to do in her wheelchair. My loved one thoroughly enjoyed this. We wanted to have a medication stopped being given to my loved one. This was hard for this to happen with the breakdown of communication.

If I could select "0" Stars I would. All I need to say is my 81 year old Mother was struck by a Staff member during her memory care stay, then given a "immediate termination" status due to her behavior. As a dementia care facility that advertises, "providing compassionate care", that statement should be deleted from their mission statement. To finalize, an increase in staffing or more extensive training by the Administrative Staff before this facility has any chance of improving. Would not recommend this facility for any type of care!!!

During my loved one's stay at this Brookdale location, everything was wonderful! The facility was very clean and the staff were wonderful with the care of my loved one. We are glad that we chose this facility!

My mother moved in recently and things are going very well. The staff is friendly and answers all of our questions. The facility is very clean and kept up. The food is good and fresh. They offer activities but I'm not sure if she is participating in any of them.

When we were first going to move my mother into the Brookdale Vero, she fought us all the way. When we took her to move in, that same day she was convinced that she loved it! She has not asked us to go home at all. When [Removed] takes people on tours, my mother takes over the tour of the memory care. They even gave her a badge with her name. She is so happy to be able to tell future families she is so happy there. The food there is great, I know we made the right decision.

I thought that the tour went well here. The staff was friendly and super nice. They had a nice community just not as nice as we thought it could be. The residents were out and doing things in the community.
