It has been good but moving my mother from an assisted living facility to a memory care facility has its challenges. It seemed to us from our tour and interviews of the staff that it was the best for my mother out of all the memory care facilities we visited. Thankfully it was also the first one that had an opening as we were on a waitlist at 3 different facilities.... Read more
Oxford Springs Tulsa Memory Care offers residents customization and individualized care like never before. Thanks to exclusive memory care programs like the Clare Bridge and Solace, the residents here participate in tailored activities, while receiving grooming assistance, as needed. Rest assured, the compassionate care team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to an emergency situation. A 24-hour security system and keypad entries are also in use to promote safety. Another perk of life is that residents can say goodbye to mundane chores like cooking and cleaning, as well as lawn care and home maintenance. If your loved one would like to send or receive mail, the community offers convenient postal services on-site. Assistance with transportation and a beauty/barber shop are also available to promote stress-free days. With fewer chores, residents have more time to relax or enjoy the company of loved ones.

I saw no activities whenever I was there and I only gave them a 3 for meals in assumption that it was just ok because I wasn't there for a meal. The prior staff--several of them--told me the new folks were purposely driving out all of the residents because they wanted to get rid of those who needed memory care.

As a retiree, I have worked and managed in many very different environments. I have never see a staff that is so proactive, works so well together, and has such positive attitudes. The room sizes and amenities offered to residents in memory care seem to be just fine!

Brookdale staff really cared for my mom. They were always very attentive and accommodating. They truly understood each stage of dementia and were very knowledgeable about how to best care for my mom in the least restrictive way. My mom was always happy there.

Our family had an in-person tour and from everything we saw in the community and all the staff members we met with, we thought it was a great experience.
This facility is very good. It's a nice atmosphere and clean. They have a variety of activities and outings. The staff is great. Communication with the family is good. The food is good quality and variety. I have noticed that my loved one's laundry basket is often full and her sheets look like they haven't been washed for awhile sometimes. Overall, she seems to be doing well and is content. I would recommend them to family and friends.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a good experience
They really pursued my loved one when he was at another facility and they knew he was going to be getting placed somewhere. They knew about the type of care he needed and assured us they would be able to monitor him. When he got into some trouble they evicted him and also charged us unfairly for a sitter and demanded our family come to sit with him. They could not prove to us that the sitter was ever even there. It was an incredibly unsafe scenario and they really dropped the ball. We would not recommend Brookdale Tulsa to others looking.

Response from Oxford Springs Tulsa Memory Care
April 11, 2022We take the quality of care provided to our residents seriously, as well as your comments. We have shared your concerns with our corporate management team for their further review.
The care the staff provided for the residents was excellent, we thought the food was very good and the dining service was very responsive. Even though our loved one was not always able to participate in the activities, they were really good.

The Brookdale Tulsa community itself is very clean but the house keeping for the individual apartments like our loved ones could use improvement. Also, the care our loved one is receiving now has greatly improved.

This community seemed hectic and it was not what I was looking for for my loved one.
Response from Oxford Springs Tulsa Memory Care
November 23, 2021We deeply regret that we were unable to meet all of your expectations. We want to thank you for taking the time to visit and for providing feedback. Please know it will be reviewed and used to better serve our residents and their families in the future.
They have good house keeping, but the individual care services need improvements. Sometimes when we go to pick up our loved one for the day they have not been showered.

I choose this community due to their care model. It is all on one level. My loved one says they enjoy the food here. They have art classes, a lot of crafts, a greenhouse, community garden, and a nice outdoor area for walking.

We chose Brookdale Tulsa because they had availability quickly and it was the best that I found in the location. They have been pretty good with communication, we have just recently been able to start going in to visit. It is hard to rate just with not being able to go in the facility for 6 months so I am learning something new everyday. I would recommend to others looking.

[name removed] , Sales Manager over at Brookdale, made my brother & I feel very welcome during our video tour. She answered all questions that we had. The facility that [name removed] works at is a little bit farther in distance than where Dad lives at right now BUT she placed us in contact with "Brookdale Midtown" which is almost literally right up the street from where he lives now, so we are in contact with them at the moment. 5 stars for Brookdale, and we appreciate the time and willingness to be there for our questions.

My husband is doing okay with his move to this community, but I do have some concerns. They do not check his blood pressure as much as I would like. The location is convenient for our family to travel too, but we are concerned about the level of care his receiving.

I had recently taken a tour of this community for my loved one and I have no complaints of how things had went. The staff where friendly and made sure to answer any questions we had for them in detail. The property was clean and they had a lot of great amenities available to all of the residents. I would defiantly recommend it to anyone it was just not the right fit for him in the end decision.

I really liked Brookdale Tulsa, it would have been my top choice. The thing that steered me away was the smell, I couldn't get passed the smell as soon as you walk in. Everyone was very nice and if it wasn't for that, I would have moved my mother here.

On my tour I saw a suitable community for a person in need. Nothing was wrong with their services. The main factor for my search was to find a place that was close to me and staff who were professional. I was given a proper tour,no lateness or rushing.

I chose Brookdale Tulsa because the lady who showed me the community said her grandmother was a resident here.I felt if it was good enough for her grandmother it would be a nice place for my mother and so far I am not wrong. The community is very clean. They offer a variety of activities. One day they made cupcakes, once a week the paint each others toes and fingernails. My mother has made several friends. They also offer something called a virtual pet. Its stuffed animal that purrs and wiggles when you pet it. There was a lady one day who was very upset, she picked up one of the virtual pets and started petting it and it calmed down her down. One thing they did that was very nice was I've struggled with finding shoes that fit my mother. I had hip replacement surgery and couldn't drive around to buy her shoes. One of the staff members picked up shoes for her and returned the ones that didn't fit. I thought that was very nice of them.

A Place for Mom has scored Oxford Springs Tulsa Memory Care 8.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
