Brookdale Scotts Valley

Their price was better. I also had experience with [facility removed] and was not that happy with them. I would say they are good. My complaint is they're short staffed. Sometimes the call button would not be answered especially on the weekend .

My dad likes the security that the facility offers. He knows he's in a safe environment that can scale with his needs. He likes have the meals available and brought to him if needed. He is still very independent and mobile so not a lot of car needed. Therefore, I don't have a lot of feedback.

My mother-in-law likes the food. Too salty for me. My mother-in-law hasn't participated yet but they look good. Value for cost is great for 3 meals/day, internet, cable, laundry, house cleaning , keyless entry, elevator, activities, 24 hour coverage, studio apartment with small balcony in Santa Cruz county this place is great! And she's close to us- 10 minutes drive.

I am currently a resident at Brookdale Scotts Valley. I would recommend this facility for Assisted Living, it's been pretty good for me here.

l picked Brookdale Scotts Valley because of previous experience with them and found that they have maintained the same top notch food and service for their residents that I expected. Response time in skilled nursing is as faster than other facilities previously experienced. My advice to anyone considering Brookdale is get to know the managers and communicate your needs to them.

The setting is very pretty. Our director [name removed] makes herself available if anyone has something to discuss with her. That's important to residents. It's important for people, to know what independent is, compared to services that are charged to your account.

Great caregivers but all about the money. Nationwide chain looking to serve their shareholders not their clients. Constantly battling them over costs and that is all they care about. Look at a locally operated facility with ties to the community not the shareholders..

Overall, it has been a positive experience. The people are nice and helpful. I would recommend this community to other families.

Very negative on costs. Honestly we're not that happy. Communication is lacking as is their attitudes.

The community is very clean and if you call for help the staff members come to assist in a timely manner. They also have some really nice nursing aids. Right now we have been shut down due to covid so some of the things are pretty limited. They do have certain activities going on and today they are actually having a spa day. When the dining room was open the food was very good, the chefs that cook the food are very consciousness when it comes to cooking a nice healthy variety of meals for the residents. Right now the meals are being delivered to our rooms. It is expensive but I have a nice apartment with house keeping that comes to help clean and wash my clothes.

I think that Brookdale Scotts Valley has a different feel and vibe to it just based on how it was built and where it is located amongst the trees. It feels more like an apartment complex versus and assisted living home.

I like the whole set up of the community and I enjoyed my visit with them for a week. I can't wait to move in. I like the friendly atmosphere and everything about the care they provide. Everybody is pleasant. It is near to family and convenient for them to pick me up. My main reason I picked them.

We loved [Removed]. I can't say enough about her. She is perfect for her job. She is so welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, appropriate, and helpful. We loved the whole feeling of the place, amenities, apartments, social activities, and grounds . This place would be perfect for our mother. We need to meet with our mother and discuss what she can afford.

The Brookdale is a nice place, my dad seemed to really like it. It is clean and the food is very good. Whenever there were any bumps in the road, they were quick to resolve them.

I like living in this community. The staff is always helpful to my needs. This community is very clean. I like being able to cook for myself when I want. The meals that are served are good. I like the activities that are offered to me. I would recommend families to this community.

This started rough with missed promises but after seeing so many other places has turned out to be the best choice. The staff and residents seem so happy to be there that I hope my Mother-in Law will be Happy again. She mainly needed to be around people again and this has wonderful fresh food being made daily and a communal food area that operates like a restaurant. There seem to be a wide range of events and things to do and my mother-in-law has already taken a bus tour of the area. We feel so smart that we chose Brookdale in Scotts Valley. 15 minutes from our house and very pleasant to see her there. They welcomed her dog and she is her companion. The staff seem to truly love the residents.

[Removed] was very helpful answering our questions. facility was neat and clean. Flexible meal schedule good,They appear to have process to manage transitions that minimizes the load on customers.

I enjoyed the facility and tour with the staff. This seems like a good option in the area.

The management and employees are the best and the smiles and happy residences are the result of their care. It is a rocky path locating my mother in law in a assisted living facility but except for a move in confusion the experience is far, far better than I had ever expected. The parking for guests states "Future Resident" and this just may be a reality as this has changed my feeling of these facilities for ever. What a warm, caring place for your parents or loved one this is the place.
