Brookdale San Ramon

I recently toured Brookdale San Ramon and was extremely disappointed. The administrator seemed rushed and gave vague answers when I asked about care services. The facility was unkempt, with unpleasant smells in the hallways and cobwebs everywhere. It felt like no one cared about creating a comfortable environment for seniors. Overall, it was a waste of time, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

All seven are 5+. [name removed] is very happy and so am I!!! The site is always clean and calm when I visit. It smells so nice (I would like the scent they use for my home!). [name removed] enjoys the food and has made friends.

The place is dirty. The neighbor has a dog that gets outside the room and deficates on the hallway floor on a daily basis. The laundry facilities are dirty. People continually wash materials that disintegrate in the machine such as Tampex pads left in laundry and really old rags. These materials leave residue al over the clothes from the next person. The food is lousy. Fresh dishes consistantly have food residue and lipstick stains. To make matters worse, the social scene is dominated by strong cliques. It's like returning to junior high school. New resident orientation is essentially non-existent. After three weeks in, my mother has essentially been ignored.

My experience with Brookdale San Ramon has been incredibly frustrating, particularly when it comes to the care provided and the unresponsiveness of the Executive Director. When I first toured the community, the Sales Manager did an amazing job presenting the facility as a top-notch, “gold standard” senior living community. Unfortunately, the reality is far from what was promised. Once we moved in, it became clear that the level of care was subpar. Basic needs and requests are often ignored, and there seems to be a lack of concern for residents' well-being. The care staff appears overworked and understaffed, which directly impacts the quality of service. To make matters worse, the Executive Director is completely unresponsive. Repeated attempts to address issues regarding my loved one’s care have been ignored, with no resolution or accountability from management. While the Initial Presentation was smooth and persuasive, the actual experience has been deeply disappointing.

Felt rushed in to do paperwork and have them take my money and he didn’t move in for a month after I was financially responsible. I think they could use a few more staff members And felt I was charged for services he wasn’t receiving

The staff is very responsive and friendly.

It was cheaper than other communities. It's a good value for the price. It's clean and the staff is friendly. It seems that there has been some staff turnover or lack of staff since my family member moved in. I do wish there was a little more communication from staff about the updates regarding the facility, not just through a paper newsletter but through email as well.

1 for all. If I could rate them a 0 I would. It was the most horrible experience our family as ever had. They should be closed down! A Place For Mom should NEVER have recommended the place and shouldn't in the future. So sad my mom had to be there. She was such a sweet mom. My biggest concern was their lack of staff! I pulled up at 8:30am and there were 3 cars in the parking lot and those people were in the dining room getting ready for breakfast. We asked them multiple times to have her taken to meals and they never did. I would walk into her room and the stacks of food and garbage was awful. They just drop the food in a styrofoam container and leave. That's just part of it. They are probably operating illegally because of their lack of staff.

We would definitely use Brookdale again if the need arose. The rooms could have used vacuuming a little more often. Especially if resident needs diaper changing. The common areas where extremely clean. The staff were always friendly and happy. With what we had going on with dad being non communicative and bed ridden, and only there for 31 days the family feels they did a great job. This is the only complaint, the meals could use some flavor, way to bland, also because dad could not get to the dining hall if he was sleeping often his meals were skipped and not left in his room. When it comes to the activities we did not get a chance to check these out. The most reasonable priced for the area.

I saw the ad for Brookdale, San Ramon in 2019, & went to check it out. The staff was friendly, welcoming & informative. The residents were friendly as well. After taking my dad to check it out we him moved in. The staff is very warm, friendly, patient & encouraging with both the residents & families. They work hard & keep me informed. There are many activities available for the residents, as well as fun celebration parties (with food, music & dancing) for holidays for both residents & family, with a great time had by all! The dining room is lovely. The new director is outstanding! Though she has only been there a short time, she is on top of things, very caring, warm & welcoming toward all. She interacts & knows her residents & made many positive changes for the safety & enrichment of the residents, staff & environment. The atmosphere is wonderful! The residents are also warm, friendly & welcoming.. I'm so grateful I've found such a safe, caring place for my dad.

When I speak with our family member at Brookdale they have no complaints, they really seem to like it there and that things are going very well. From what we have heard it seems like they might have some staffing issues but we don't think that has really impacted anything.

Sales Representative MJ was proactive, infomative, and courteous. Brookdale San Ramon is a beautiful facility with many attractive elder care features. The chat bot says I need to say more, use more characters, so I'll say that chat bot surveys are annoying.

I was living in Hawaii for past 10 years and my husband passed away few years back. I was very unhappy and unable to do much own my own and needed help. One day I saw Brookdale add in a newspaper and decided to call them. It was struggle with every other Brookdale I called to get things done and going everyone sort of rejected the idea or even possibility for me to move from Hawaii to California. but when i called Brookdale san Ramon it went smooth and effortless. So I decided to move with this beautiful community with beautiful people especially [name removed] sales manager who truly helped me to overcome my fear of moving and found help who can transport me without hassle. She is persistence giver. Even after several hurdles and cancellation of my move she stayed connected and kept be very positively grounded. I have been living here now over 6 months and would recommended anyone who is alone and need home. Join this amazing home with wonderful people. [name removed] you are my savior and I thank you.

My Aunt lives here and seems to be thriving. She is local resident in San Ramon and lived alone in her home. One day she met [name removed] at senior center who introduced my aunt to live in Assisted Living . She decide to stay in touch with her for almost a year and my aunt made best choice. People are kind and helpful. Grounds and facility has small setting like home and well kept. Very secure. On a hill so not noisy. Don't know about care staff quality but residents appear to know one another and actively engaged. When we toured it was nice to see [name removed] sales Manager knowing every resident by their name. And that’s a sign for my Aunt if sales Manager in it to sell or do they really care what she might like. Food was great and whole day is plan for residents. We have searched several communities but this was the best fit for my aunt. Thank you Brookdale San Ramon.

The staff is awesome and the other residents are very friendly. I know we are working our way out of Covid, but I'd like to see more activities and outings. I do realize that Covid has impacted things like that, so I don't expect that to happen immediately. The meals are great and I feel safe knowing my mom is there. Its reassuring to know that she has help if she needs it.

I would tell others this is a nice and caring community with caring and professional staff. The staff are involved with the residents and consider their needs. They are careful in the way they speak to the residents as well. They have been able to assist with medication distribution and bathing for my loved one. Bingo, puzzles, entertainment, movies, cognitive classes, field trips, celebrations, and more are some of the activities for the residents to choose from. The food is wonderful and they have good staff in the kitchen.
