5 for EVERYTHING! Our mom was only here 1.5 months before she passed and we could not have asked for a better group of kind, caring, compassionate people. The facilities are lovely, clean and homey. The quality of care is beyond excellent. It's a wonderful value for the cost. I highly recommend Brookdale River Valley Tualatin!!!... Read more

I would encourage a friend to look at other communities, to be much more assertive in matching needs to what is available for services, what is included and what are extra costs. The intake individual was very friendly, reassuring and confident that all our concerns would not be a problem for them to handle. Communication became much more difficult after papers were signed. Responding to questions, concerns, were never returned in a timely fashion or at all. My parent refuses to go to the dining room, therefore, the food is always cold. One mistake made was the first time my parent did go to the dining room a client from the facility sat down and had an ax to grind. That experience has left a measurable bad impression.

We toured three places and Brookdale was by far the best place. We were also looking for a room with a view of something other than the parking lot. My mom is really glad she moved there. The entire staff and residents were extremely friendly and polite. It's homey and very comfortable. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place for mom!

Brookdale River Valley Tualatin didn’t appear to be as hands-on and efficient as another place we toured. And I didn't feel that their buildings were as clean and sanitized, which was important to me during Covid times.
The caregivers are fantastic. There is a staffing shortage it seems like. The response time for the residents when pushing the call button can be slower than expected. My loved one doesn't care for the food. The menus do look great to the family. The community gives us peace of mind, knowing our loved one is safe. The process of getting my loved one into the community. The marketing director is fabulous to work with, along with the front desk who is always. There are a couple of fantastic aides that care for my loved one.

I have a mother-inlaw in a memory center and it is very hard to get hold of to talk on the phone. Her phone ringer is off and when called to the main switch board always are asked to call back and a staff member would say oh she is sleeping or in the dinning room sometimes would makes excuses or she is in the dinning or she was in her room. Full of lies I am just asking to leave her ringer on so she can talk to her siblings, I keep on talking and they hang up and they don't even give her the phone very frusturating, This place SUCKS!!

This was a nice community but my loved one liked another community and we went with it.
What a blessing it has been to know that my sister is safe and well cared for during the tragic progression of her memory related conditions. Even during the historic coronavirus pandemic, we could focus or helping ourselves and other, because she was in a good place. Her care team transitioned her seamlessly to memory care so even that hurdle is past us now.
Due to the restrictions we have not been able to see our loved ones room or really the inside of the community. However, the staff members are wonderful, during this difficult time they have been great and kept up constant communication with us. We do really think this is a good place.

We chose Brookdale River Valley because the facility itself was nice, the location to family was good, and the price was reasonable. The room size that my in laws are in is very nice and good for their needs. Overall, I would recommend them.

We chose Brookdale River Valley because of the location and the flexibility. The room sizes are pretty good compared to others that we looked into. We moved her in and I have not been here since so it is a little difficult. Communication from the staff members has been good, they email us everyday and update us. Overall, I would recommend.

***horrible*** Please don’t take a family member there. My family member went without meals as they forgot about him, had stuff stolen and the staff is so rude. We called multiple times and never got a phone call back. It’s was 87 degrees out and he was promised a window AC unit and never got one. Mind you he’s in the third floor with no balcony. They charm you and get you to move a family member in then treat you like crap after you are paying $4800 a month. Please don’t let a family member you love move into Brookdale tualatin. [Name removed] is so rude and is known as the with her by all resistance. [Names removed] never return calls and seem to not care. So very sad.

Toured only: Lovely and convenient location with right level of care available for our needs. Interior is outdated and apartments we were shown have outdated fixtures, cabinets, doors, etc.

My mother has lived here for three years and we have been extremely happy with the care she has been receiving, as well as the food. I’ve noticed all of my moms concerns have been addressed in a very timely manner and the care staff seems to really listen to her gripes and resolved them quickly. The views from every apartment are amazing and we love the park like setting and proximity to hospital. My mom’s balcony allows her to get fresh air and sit outside and enjoy the birds. We are so pleased that we chose the right fit for my mom at Brookdale River Valley Tualatin. We would recommend to anyone looking for a home for their parents

Mom has been there almost 2 months. Says the food is awful. Much worse than the last place she was at. Rooms are dark. Not much natural light and room lighting is not good. We are starting to look for another place for her. Location and facility is otherwise great. The reviews were very good and we were kind of rushed to get her moved from out of state so we chose this place.

We took a tour here, and we were not very impressed with the person showing us around. She just did not seem very professional at all. I did like the idea of being able to see the pastoral view they had from outside of their picture window in the lobby, and I liked that they had an outdoor area for the residents. However, the first impression as well as the fact that they did not have anything available at the time made it not a good fit for us.

This is a nice community the staff is helpful but would like to see more encouragement to get involved. They have lots of activities but with my sister's dementia she forgets so would just love for them to try more with her. The food could use some improvement its the basic mass produced food so more variety would be nice. There is a beautiful garden area with raised beds, also a wildlife sanctuary that they can see through the windows. It is a clean community but we have to be sure they go in weekly to clean her apartment. Overall I would recommend them to anyone who is looking.

I am bringing my loved one back home. I like the staff and they are fine but my wife would have to go into the memory care. She just wants to be home. It is should be a good community for a more willing resident.

Mom is starting to get adjusted to living at Brookdale. I was not happy that no one came to see her when she first moved in. They have been great since then. I really like and trust the marketing director. The coordinator is really nice. They are taking good care of mom. Mom looks better and seems to like the food. They do her laundry and keep the community clean.

We are extremely pleased with my father's stay at this Brookdale location! The staff are very involved with patients. In fact, just the other week, the staff invited a big group of residents out on the lawn to relax and talk with one another, which thought was very nice. They are also very responsive and seek to resolve issued quickly. The food is excellent as well! There are served in generous, healthy portions, which my father enjoys. Overall, this is a phenomenal facility!
