At Brookdale Richmond, enjoy your golden years like never before. Here, the trained and trusted team members work directly with residents to foster healthy habits and happy living. Whether you’re in need of daily assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, managing specific medications, or simply moving around safely, you can find reliable, one-on-one care you can count on.
Residents' care and safety come first, which is why the staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to any emergencies. An emergency alert system and keypad entries are also in use. To simplify each day, the residents have access to transportation assistance, a beauty/barber shop, and postal services on-site. Sit back, relax, and indulge in homemade meals crafted with fresh ingredients by the culinary team, and say goodbye to washing laundry, and managing housekeeping, home maintenance, and landscaping. The staff works hard to ensure your care and chores are taken care of. With less tedious tasks and more freedom, you can look forward to self-care Saturdays at the relaxing whirlpool, discovering new novels in the library, or simply enjoying the garden views.

I would recommend Brookdale Richmond to anyone. The staff was so kind and caring. The food was good. My mom liked most of what was offered, and she's picky. The place is clean, and the overall atmosphere is homey. We were very satisfied.

We decided on Brookdale Richmond mostly because of the availability. He had a very comfortable room and staff did pretty good from what he had told me. I would recommend this facility to others, but I do wish that they would work with the VA. I encourage anybody to look into short term respite and adult daycare compared to the cost of living at a facility full time.

What sticks out most about Brookdale Richmond is how friendly everyone was.
We toured Brookdale Richmond and it was a really nice facility. We just did not think that my brother would fit in with the population that was here.
I would highly recommend them. We checked out the others in the area and they were the best fit. My mom likes the food. The room sizes are nice. My mom has a one-bedroom unit. They have an outdoor courtyard for residents to use.

Excellent facility. 42 rooms. Intimate, home/family atmosphere. "Age-in-place" environment...no moving from one section to another as residents' needs change with aging. Minimal respite care... mostly LTC.

I FEEL THAT MY MOTHER IS GETTING GOOD CARE AND ATTENTION FROM THE STAFF AT BROOKDALE. SHE SEEMS TO BE DOING BETTER THAN SHE WAS AT HOME AND WE DO NOT WORRY ABOUT HER TRYING TO DO THINGS AT HER HOUSE THAT SHE CANNOT DO SAFELY. ALSO WE FEEL THAT SHE GETS BETTER MEALS THAN SHE WAS BEFORE. THE FACILITY SEEMS TO BE KEPT CLEAN AND PLEASANT . WE FEEL MUCH BETTER ABOUT HER SAFETY.

The community is beautiful and well maintained. The staff is super caring and committed to providing a loving Christian atmosphere, which is exactly what my mom was looking for in a home. There has not been one bad incident. The food is excellent, very nutritious. There are plenty of activities to choose from and they offer organized exercise activities which my mom really likes. We chose this community because it is smaller and provides more one on one care. When I visit my mom it feels like an extension of my own family. The ladies my mom often sit with are my friends too. Whenever we take mom out on trips she always wants to go back, saying her friends will miss her if she does not get back soon.

Mom is doing pretty good at this community. She says the staff are nice and helpful. They keep the community clean and they offer daily activities. This community felt like more of a residential family than other communities we looked at. I would recommend this community.

Everything is working out pretty well for my father with his move to this community. It is a very nice place, and I'am pleased with all they have done for us. He is doing well, and I know he is safe, and in a good place at this community.

Mom instantly felt at home at Brookdale. Within 3 days and 2 hours of our first tour, she signed a contract and I moved her belongings into her new apartment. Wide well-lit hallways, lots of group sitting areas, and the ease of communicating with the Brookdale managers and staff made for an excellent first impression. I am finally at peace knowing that my mother will be safe, secure, and socializing in her new community. Thank you,[Removed]! And thanks to [Removed] at 'A Place for Mom' for assisting us. Sincerely, [Removed]

It ended up not working out at Sterling House of Richmond. He just couldn't do the assisted living. I really wish it could have worked out. It had nothing to do with the facility just his behavioral problem. The property itself was just beautiful. It just wasn't a good fit for him.

More expensive but better care (in my opinion). We have been in close contact with them, have seen the facility and like it a lot.

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Richmond 9.4 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score.
