It was expensive but they allowed us to go on DSHS MEDICAID after 1 year most places were 2 years private pay. They were kind and it was a homey family environment. His clothes and belongings would get lost sometimes but always seemed to make their way back eventually. The rooms were clean and comfortable most had extra chairs and it was ok for families to hang pics, shelves etc plus they allowed us to bring my dads recliner,tv,and mini fridge .They even helped him fix his tv a few times. Each room has its own bathroom minus a shower . I got to know the staff well through my dad's illness and they were wonderful.Very apparent that they really cared and it's not just a job for them.... Meanwhile, the Solace program provides an additional layer of support and is designed for residents in advanced stages of dementia. This specialized program includes additional hands-on personal care and incorporates activities with music and aromatherapy.
Rest assured, residents’ safety is prioritized just as much as their care. Staff members are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to an emergency situation. [name removed] was very helpful from a financial standpoint, getting us a contract that was both feasible for us and profitable for Brookdale176th. [name removed] with more of the day today specifics, concerns, and questions about anything going on with my mom. She was amazing and extremely helpful.

Brookdale South tried to charge me $[removed]for an empty room without My Husband ever setting foot in the building. We had agreed to a monthly price of $[removed]. When I called yesterday the price I was given was $[removed]. The price magically went up $[removed] more than our agreement. They try to scam unsuspecting people in their time of need. I would NEVER recommend Brookdale South to anyone….

We picked this community, because it offered the Medicaid spend down, and I received a second opinion about it. It's really expensive, but my loved one is being taken care of, and is in a safe place. They could use more staff, and clean more often. I would recommend to other families.

We had a horrible experience with Brookdale Puyallup South. They should improve in all areas - they were all about the money and no care at all, absolutely no care. It was all talk to action with the staff and we would not recommend.

January 6, 2023We take your comments seriously and are committed to providing quality care and services to our residents. We would welcome an opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have and hope you will contact our management team to discuss further
The back care staff are wonderful! But communication is very poor. Her hearing aids were lost, inaccurate information was frequently given or conflicting information was given and it was a terrible experience. It is incredible to spend so much money and still walk away hoping that I never end up in a place like that.

The food was terrible, and the sheets were, always missing on the bed. My loved ones clothes were always missing. I am not happy person. I would not recommend this place. Beware, and don't put your loved one here.

September 13, 2022Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We will share your feedback with our management team.
The place shows very well, but the level of care you are paying for is inadequate. The staff communication with the family is my biggest frustration as my phone calls and emails go unanswered. I feel ignored by this. The menu for meals looks great. The community seem to do a good job with activities. I feel that they are short staffed, like a lot of places are, to be able to provide the care they need to be providing for the residents.

Response from Brookdale Puyallup South
August 24, 2022Thank you for your feedback. The health and well-being of our residents is our top priority and we have shared your concerns with our management team for review.
Small rooms and was not impressed, and they were more expensive. If a resident needs to be switched over to Medicaid than the resident has to move to a shared room.

August 5, 2022We are sorry to hear your tour of Brookdale Puyallup South did not meet your expectations. We want to thank you for taking the time to visit and provide feedback. Our staff is committed to providing the highest-quality service and care and we will share your feedback with our management team.
This was a nice community with friendly staff. The drawback was the bathrooms were across the hall from the residents rooms.
Good place but sometimes the communication is lacking. The activity coordinator is good at responding. I believe the follow through is not as good as it could be. They could provide menu calendar with the activities calendar for families to see what their loved ones have the options to eat.

It's been a difficult year for us who have had family members in a care facility on total lockdown-no visitors. But despite my anger and frustration for my mom I feel the staff at Brookdale South did the best they were able to see that we stayed in contact with family. I applaud them all for being there when I couldn't.
In my mother’s 10 day stay they let her fall 3 times, didn’t shower her whatsoever (I had to take it upon myself) served her seafood (she is highly allergic!) and lost 50% of her wardrobe (we labeled everything). They called me the second night she was there to say that my Mom was too busy for them and they couldn’t provide 1:1 care and told me that I needed to spend the night with her or they would send her to the ER. From that point on, we stayed the night with her for the remaining 8 nights. As soon as we pulled Mom out of this facility they billed us [amount removed] for these 10 days still getting bills from them even now that my Mom has passed away. One for [amount removed]!! I tried to call/text financing and negotiate but there was no response. So as I prepare my Moms funeral, I’m also having to deal with the mental, emotional and financial aftermath of Brookdale South. I’ve had better treatment from my veterinarian when my dog passed away than I’ve had for my human mother from this place.

This community was great but we went with another one due to the distance.
The Brookdale Puyallup South is for strictly Alzheimer's care. It is a nice community that I did research on while looking for other care for my mom. Based on other recommendations it is a very nice and clean community. The caregivers do a good job of taking care of their residents.

I was very happy with the care that was received in this community. The staff was very caring to our special needs. The community is clean and maintained and we are happy. They had a small choice of meals They offered her activities for her to participate. I would recommend this community for good care and to assist with needs of a loved one. I would be happy to come back to this community for the special needs for a loved one to receive good care.

I am not happy with this communty. the price for the care is too much for a small small room. the community is not clean. They do not offer activities that are helpful for the residents. The residents are not offered there own towel when needing. The dining area did not have a knife for her to have her meals taken care of .They have offered activiites for her to participate. They need to offer more activities fir the residents to try and stay active. I suggest other famiilies check out this community to see if this is what they are wanting for a family member for care.

The staff are friendly and the facility is clean and well decorated. Staff take an active interest in residents. The cost for residents is a little extreme. You don't get the value for what you pay. Many things that should be included in the room rental cost extra.

It is nice to see my dad out and about now. The staff are encouraging and helped dad to be more active and get involved with activities. My dad enjoys his meals especially his dessert! I think I caught a bad day but when I visited my dad his room smelled and the toilet was pretty gross. My dad is doing well here. Mechele from A Place For Mom did so much for us, I appreciate her so much.

Beings my husband is there for a 2 week respite care for me to recover from surgery. They were very supportive to both him and myself in getting things all set up. They made him feel at home in his room and every thing.
