Brookdale Nacogdoches

Some staff were great but more than one person did not treat patients well especially on late shifts. The facility was under staffed.

My loved one is currently a resident at Brookdale Nacogdoches and everything is great for her here! The only thing that I can think to comment about is the staff turnover. But, some of the people who leave do return. I would highly recommend this facility to others.

The staff endeavors to assure the transition is smooth as this change is confusing and upsetting. They work hard to help them accept a "new family" setting, demostrating care and affection.

The facility is very pleasant and the staff is friendly and accommodating. A couple of minor issues with the room (shower that doesn't drain fully, heater doesn't work correctly.) But it's a good place, and I feel it's the right place for my mom.

This is an older community. I believe the community could use some updating with the décor. I would encourage you to shop carefully with your loved one's needs in mind. Look at the care and environment your loved one will receive and be in.

This is a super secure dementia location, so I felt like my loved one was safe the whole time he was there. He didn't have the opportunity to wander much, but I would not have worried about it. The care staff was fine, although I had some issues with the administrative staff. But the care staff's communication with hospice was very good. It was a beautiful place, with nice furnishings. Everything seemed very clean, and I felt it was a very comfortable environment for the residents. And their cost is in line with other care facilities.

I originally chose this facility for my mom mainly for the Claire Bridge Program that keeps the residents engaged with each other and keeps them alert and positive. I was impressed more so, with the level of family inclusion, meaning the staffs professionalism, treating the residents as their own families with such care and compassion. The facility is just the right size to where the staff get to know the residents families and family's stories and even know their names. There were other facilities closer to my home but I chose this one and am extremely satisfied and would highly recommend this Brookdale-Nacogdoches to other families that have love ones with Dementia/Alzheimer's.

Excellent facility for our needs. Small community where his advanced state is common among the residents. He will become a member of Brookdale next week if all goes smoothly.

The community has stayed covid free and that is a blessing. They protected my loved one during covid and are meticulous in the care provided. The room's sizes are good but the chef has changed recently and the food could be better. I would definitely recommend the community

It was a very good environment for my mom. We chose this community because of this Clarebridge . I would recommend this community to other families needing memory care. The food was good and they offered a good variety. We was happy there and my mom was happy there as well.

Feels more like a nursing home.

She quickly had padded carpeting installed in my wife's room when I expressed concern about her falling. I have eaten with my wife on several occasions and the food and service were excellent. Perhaps most important, my wife is happy with the facility, the diverse programs, and all of the people who take such good care of her. I highly recommend Brookdale Nacogdoches.

My husband is here and only has been for about a month and they have been wonderful. The staff is just absolutely understanding of the residents that are there. I’ve watched them interact with other patients, not just my husband, and they put their heart and soul into everything they do. The facility is beautiful, too. The great part for me is that it’s only 5 minutes from my house so I can visit my husband whenever I want to or however often I want to and they’ve always been very professional and wonderful. [Removed], the executive director, and [Removed], the business manager, have always had me amazed. There’s never been a time that they haven’t had a smile on their face and seeing them work with the patients that get upset about being there is really great. The food is always good and my husband will say he’s not hungry but by the time he goes, he eats everything. The only thing I’ve noticed is there are a lot of starchy foods, but there are always vegetables to go with it. The residents get 3 meals a day and they’re all pretty balanced. They also have cookies, an ice cream bar, crackers, and things like that between meals. The activities are great and they’re always doing something with the residents every hour. They have trivia and I’ve had the chance to do that, bingo, arts and crafts, there’s just always something to do to keep everyone busy. What amazes me the most is the cleanliness of the facility. When I was first trying to decide, I took a tour and the second I walked in, there were no weird smells, no dirt, and I noticed that they just do a great job of keeping everything clean. They’re constantly checking the patients that are wheelchair bound to make sure they don’t need a change or anything and then they’ll happily bring them back out to continue on their day. There’s a daycare center right across the street, too, and during Halloween all of the little kids got dressed up and came over to do some trick or treating and it was so much fun. It’s a nice facility and it’s a place that I would highly recommend if you have a loved one with dementia or Alzheimer’s.

My loved one is settling in well at Brookdale Nacogdoches. The place is fine. It's a little older establishment, not super fancy, but warm and welcoming. It has a peaceful and calming environment. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The staff is friendly, they are fantastic. They are easy to communicate with if I have any questions or concerns regarding our loved one. The food and the quantity are good, it's not always prepared to our taste, but it is good. They do have activities that the staff encourages the residents to participate in.There is a nicely landscaped courtyard for the residents to go outside and enjoy the fresh air. We are pleased with the location for the family to be able to visit more often. I would recommend this community to others.

This is a very nice community that is set-up very well for memory care. All the staff is well trained and I felt that my dad would have done very well here. Right now dad is still able to live in an assisted living situation but I would definitely recommend this community to those whose loved ones need the memory care, it is well worth the tour here.
