Everyone here is so perfect for their job. I see the way they react with everyone - they are ideal for their job. I like everything they've done. I have been in 3 apartments and this one is the best. I can't say much about the food because I eat so little - I don't have any appetite. I am absolutely in heaven about the library and the library on wheels that comes. I enjoy bingo, brain games, and the musicians they bring in is wonderful. I have my friends coming now just for the musicians. I am hoping they will start moving in. I absolutely love my housekeeper. He is absolutely wonderful. He warns me when I ask him to open things that it is done - he is an absolute sweetheart. The fact that we can be brought to doctor appointments and taken to the store is so wonderful. I am just 100% happy to be here.... Read more

My mother-in-law only lived there for 6 weeks. It wasn't a good fit for her. We moved her into a private care home. She was there for a little over a year and passed away in [date removed]. If I were to recommend some improvements, I would say they could improve on the timeliness of medication distribution, especially for those whose meds need to be taken at very specific times, not 2-3 hrs beyond the doctor-ordered times. Also, the timeliness of the prescription refills could be managed much better. Their residents paying extra for medication management shouldn't be running out of vital medications, sending the family into a scramble to get the needed meds because the staff didn't manage the refills as promised (and being paid to manage properly.

November 1, 2024Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. By giving us your feedback, you are helping us to understand what we do well and what we could focus on improving. Please be assured your feedback will be reviewed and used to help better serve our residents and their families.
My Mom was in the facility for eleven and a half months. I found most all the staff to be wonderful. My mom has the diagnosis of Dementia/Alzheimer’s. And her ability to care for herself was depleting. I do wish that Brook Dale had a level between assisted living and Memory care. I think then we could possibly have started longer. I also wish the facility had a few more activities available for all the days. Seemed that Wednesday through Friday was good but Most families work on Monday and Tuesday and those days the activities were very minimal. I will miss so many of the staff. Appreciated all that helped us to the best they could. Thank you

Brookdale Monroe has not staff but they are short staffed. It is very expensive and the cost went up constantly. I never knew how much I would have to pay each month. The reason we gave it a 3 overall was more for the cost to benefit. However, the food was very good.

Placing our mother in Memory Care felt like we failed her, the guilt was tremendous. Brookdale Memory Care of Monroe WA made mom feel loved, wrapped in friendship by the other residents. She had interactions throughout the day that were beyond what we could have provided. Music, gardening time, art, and many other activities she enjoyed with residents and staff. Alzheimer’s and dementia patients are special people with special needs. Brookdale Monroe really honored that trust.

My loved one was supposed to move into Brookdale Monroe, unfortunately she passed before she was able to complete her move in. However, the staff who we met there were very welcoming and helpful in explaining the whole process, evaluating the scenario, getting an apartment reserved, doing the intake and working with the family. The facility was clean, the staff was friendly, nice presentation and the other residents appeared to be happy. The discharge staff were prompt in getting the account closed and were very empathetic in the whole situation. I would recommend Brookdale Monroe to others.

Community is very friendly and for the most part the food is good and has variety. Medicine administration seems to be good and consistent. Downside - not enough staff to perform all the tasks as contracted. Poor service for housecleaning - promised once a week and they don't get it done on a schedule or even once a week. The staff don't always show up for the escort service to meals. The meal service is extremely slow. Mom and Dad have sat for an hour waiting for a meal. We know this because we have directly observed it ourselves.

Brookdale Monroe was a wonderful community while our loved one was a resident there. The staff members were very understanding of our situation and never made us feel pressured to make a quick decision. The staff were so accommodating and extremely helpful, and when our loved one had to go to the hospital - the nurse at Brookdale Monroe did a very good job explaining to us what was going down with non medical terminology. They did have a few covid shut downs but before that, the activities were quite lovely and it seemed like in every corner of the community there were residents and staff members socializing with one another.

My loved one is limited to meals because there is currently a COVID-19 lockdown. Also, there was a price increase, is due to COVID-19 complications. Overall, It's an average place.

My wife came to Brookdale Monroe after moving out of a different facility and this community has been a great experience so far. The people really treat us well which we appreciate. The meals and dining service has been great and the lady who is in charge of all the daily activities that are schedule through the week has done a great job.

The tour was great. The property itself outside is beautiful. The inside was outdated and didn't seem as well maintained.
We decided to move my mother in law to Brookdale Monroe when she needed more care. She was assessed as needing assisted living. We moved her in on a Monday. When my sister in law checked on her on Friday, she had not eaten, showered or gotten out of bed in that whole time! Meals had been delivered and left on the counter. Brookdale had mistakenly coded her as independent living. No one notified the family that she wasn't eating or getting out of bed. We moved her out on Saturday. She was dehydrated and disoriented. We are very unhappy with how she was treated and feel this treatment contributed to the decline in her health.

The grounds and cleanliness of the community really stood out to us, it is very modern looking. The people there are all very nice. We do not know the activities first hand but we do know our loved one has plenty of opportunities to participate in them.

The community was very easy to visit and having a meal with her before covid. we always felt welcome here. They have had a good plan for covid overall although recently they have had a couple of cases with the residence. I would recommend this community to others I really like the location of the community and it's only 2 floors. They also have a beautiful outdoor area for the residence. The meals are well portioned and they serve restaurant-style. They also have a salad bar for the residence.

Brookdale Monroe has exceeded my expectations in the care of my mother. I didn't know what I didn't know about assisted living and long term care despite having visited multiple facilities in multiple price points before choosing Brookdale Monroe. Brookdale is not the highest price point which is amazing based on the care, amenities, meals, facility, grounds and activities. My mother, who has dementia, probably says it best when she gets confused where she is, thinking she is on vacation at a resort. Everyone who works there truly cares about every resident. I could not have made a better choice for my mom.

The staff were very approachable and informative. The dining staff were not so attentive and the food was fair but not great. Her apartment was very nice and they were very amenable to do whatever she wanted with it. The grounds were beautiful. The building was always pretty and very clean.

Response from Brookdale Monroe
February 10, 2020We are sorry to hear Brookdale Monroe did not meet your expectations. Please be assured the safety and well-being of our residents is our first priority. We would like to learn more about your experience, and hope you will call us at [removed].
The staff were friendly and helpful. The day of our visit was quite a wet one resulting in very little check out of the grounds although there appeared to be many areas to stroll. This is good because the facility is accessed via a busy highway which would not be a comfortable place to go for a walk. Brookdale Monroe was in the midst of extensive renovations when we visited which affected most of the interior and also affected the normal activities of the residents. Due to this situation, I don't feel I can comment on normal activities. We did have a good lunch.
