For more information about senior living options
We have had the best experience with Brookdale Midland. They have been wonderful with my mother in law, helping her adjust. They are on top of everything. The staff is very proactive. The food is great. The chef incorporates residents likes into the menu. He made fried green tomatoes for her, she loved it. They have really been proactive with Covid as well. They have been good about using Facebook and other things to help residents connected with families while they can't visit.... Read more

I had a decent tour of this community. I toured it for my mother, and her needs. Everything went well overall, but I felt this community had more of a hospital atmosphere. I wanted a more homey environment for my mother. Unfortunately this wasn't the community for us, but my tour went well.

This is a very good community, and I'am very pleased with all they have done for me. I lived in other community, and this is the best community I've lived in, This is a family orientated community, which is very nice. The meals are 100% home cooked. Everything is working out very well for me here, and I would recommend.

My father isn't doing the best here at this community. It is not completely their fault. He was misdiagnose with dementia. We were paying about 5000 dollars a month and it was not a good experience. I really feel like they took advantage of us. They want residents that really don't do anything.

I have no complaints about Brookdale Midland. The staff were caring and did what they could for her. This is a small well laid out community. They offer daily activities, however my grandma was not able to participate in any due to medical issues.I liked the friendly area.

We toured this facility while looking into care options for a loved one. Sterling House seemed like a nice enough place, it was clean and the staff I met were friendly and professional. However I didn't really like the layout of the facility. The entrance area opened right up into the dining room, there wasn't really a lobby area to speak of.

Response from Brookdale Midland
August 6, 2015Thank you for taking the time to visit and share your feedback. We will share your feedback with our management team.
Not designed for older people with multiple issues. Understaffed. Mom fell a number of times, about five over the year. Medication was often found on the floor or in a cup on the night stand-several issues with that (dementia). There were numerous staff changes which led to inconsistency and lack of care. Little follow-up to meal needs and noted activities-not doing what they advertised. Great R.N. at the beginning of the stay-changed to LPN who did not have the same knowledge-base-mom should have gone to emergency room but unable to pick up on health issues. CNA's unable to follow protocal to tip off the LPN to issues. Mom sat in a chair a lot. No encouragement to participate in activities which seldom took place-no exercise or stimulation. Not always able to get assistance when taking mom out-on break or unable to find.

This place looked like it might be a good fit but too expensive.

AFC licensed facility can house up to 20. Bedroom with average size bath and kitchenette. Furniture provided or can use your own. Many organized activities available. Do not know about religious opportunities. Residents are checked every 2 hours during the night. Need to inquire about other security measures. On sight medical care, test, and therapy available. Facilities were bright and cheery. Saw several residents moving about.
