Brookdale Lake Mary

Living at Brookdale Lake Mary is a pleasure. The staff are so nice and helpful. The food is good and sometimes we have themed meals. I enjoy people watching so I like to sit in the front lobby and welcome everyone as they come in and out.

We’ve been fortunate in our experience with Brookdale. They have been consistent in what they said they would do and keep us informed on any changes or worries they have. Sonia is a tremendous help and makes us feel in the know always. a big plus for us was the recognition of veterans sacrifices in the form of a discount which we found nowhere else to do. The food is good, the service is good, we really don’t have any complains.

I really enjoy living at Brookdale Lake Mary. Everyone treats me so nice. The food is really good and the activities keep me busy. I like to people watch so I am often in the front lobby greeting everyone as they come in and out.

My mother is currently a resident of Brookdale and loves it. The staff and healthcare providers are caring, knowledgeable and follow through with patient care. The location is very well kept and safe. My mother has complemented the food, activities and staff repeatedly. Choosing a residence/ALF is not easy, however, Brookdale helped in every way possible and continues to provide great care.

Our initial impression was very good. 4 of us stopped in to look and we each walked away feeling that it is clean, comfortable, the residents looked happy to be there. [name removed] gave us our tour and she was knowledgeable and patient and when she didn’t know the answer she asked so that we walked away knowing everything we needed to. We were impressed with the people that we met and the room sizes. It didn’t make us feel claustrophobic like many of the others because the ceilings are tall and the windows are large. Their structure would allow to begin independent with help as needed but it seemed to get expensive quickly. The one drawback is that the price we got on the phone from someone else was not close to what we were told in person. We were quoted for what seemed to be an efficiency and we came specifically to see a two bedroom.

My family and loved one have had a good experience with the community. The community is clean. Everyone is friendly. The staff are helpful, kind, and caring. Deanna-the Wellness Director is pretty amazing. She is very dedicated to the residents and their well being. Overall, this is a community we believe you should check out for your loved one to see if it would be a good fit.

Like-Friendliness of the staff, great activities offered by the community for the residents to partake in Can improve on - food quantity, the rooms weren't cleaned very well. Trash pick up is not happening daily. Several times my loved one didn't receive the food in the dining room and the portion sizes have been getting smaller and smaller and my loved one is going to go hungry.

The main positive was that [name removed] the sales representative was awesome and really great to work with. Their head of nursing was not very good. She kept contradicting us as a family and when hospice told us she was at end of life, their head nurse thought she knew more than the doctors and nurses. We were going through a difficult time as is and that made the situation harder. Other than that, everything was pretty good. The rooms were gorgeous and I am glad she was here for end of life and we were able to all be with her.

I would recommend you bring your loved one to Brookdale Lake Mary. The help is caring, and the staff are on top of things. I believe the portions could be a bit larger for meals. Some of the activities available include bingo, karaoke, painting, and more for the residents to choose from.

They are reasonably priced with nice staff. They can be a little disorganized at the administrative level. The staff are very helpful in answering questions or concerns the family may have. The memory care unit has one choice of food, very few condiments, and not as much volume to the food. They also have better activities for the residents in assisted living.

The community wants to nickel and dime us. They charge for every little thing they do. I would like to see more menu options and a better variety of food options. The rooms are not cleaned but we pay for them to be. We end up doing everything ourdelves. I would not recommend this community to others based on my experience.

We chose Brookdale Lake Mary because originally he was in another Brookdale facility and the ease of transferring him to another one was great. They have been really good about communication with everything that has been going on. The only reason I gave the care a 3 is because of the speed at which they respond to his call button. That its the only issue we have had here as well as they seem understaffed. Overall it is a good facility and has been a good experience and I would recommend them to others looking.

The activities calendar were full, but the residents don't participate. My loved one enjoys bingo and movies. The community is cleaner and better than most other communities. My loved one loves the food, and gets ice cream or chocolate pudding everyday for desert.

The community was often clean. Some of the staff were good, however some I didn't like quite as much. They did offer activities for the residents, like bingo, and many of the residents were excited by this. I didn't really feel like Brookdale Lake Mary was a good value as it didn't seem like I was getting back everything I was paying. I do like it here!

My father's room was often unclean and there was often an odor. There was one aid that took care of my father who was particularly exceptional and she gave my father great care. They didn't do a good job monitoring how my father was reacting to his medications. We liked how they had Christian music and TV playing in the common space. They did also play a lot of old music from my dad's era and that was nice. We did not think Brookdale was worth the price. We felt there was a disconnect with the physician and LPN especially in regards to monitoring the residents' reactions to new medications.

Night nursing staff does not respond in timely manner. Some are uncaring. Everything else is standard or better. Day staff is great.

Brookdale Lake Mary is a wonderful community. The Executive Director has been with Brookdale for over 16 years. Most of the care staff and food service staff has been at the community for over 5 years. Experience matters in senior living.

I feel very comfortable having my Mom live here! We have been very happy with her care.
