Brookdale Lafayette

I am so glad we found A Place for Mom. They helped us so much! We did not know where to turn and found so much help with them. The place we found with their help is great and we are so happy we can place my elderly father in such a wonderful setting.

The Brookdale has been a great experience for my parents after leaving their home of 48 years. This was a very tough year for my parents and Brookdale immediately became home to them. Any issues they may have had with their transition the Brookdale staff always addressed and always had a positive solution to whatever it was. The staff is all amazing and this is a place that I have always felt this past year my parents were always safe!!

At one of the most difficult times of my life this facility showed up and built a road I had no map for. The navigation was difficult to se the very least. Brookdale Lafayette paved a way for me and my mom. Could not have done it without them.

We have had a great experience so far at Brookdale Lafayette. The facility is very clean and the staff is very helpful. The staff has taken care of my dad’s needs and have been very helpful in helping him make the transition to his new home. The administrative staff also helped me navigate the paperwork and made sure I was aware and understood all of our options.

When my siblings and I started to look for a memory care place for our mom, Brookdale immediately stood out from the other places we looked at. The director was so patient with all of questions and was always available to talk with us. We made the decision to have our mom move in at Brookdale and everything from her room to the services she receives are awesome. It is very obvious that the Brookdale staff form a bond with the residents and care very much for their well being. The communication from the Brookdale staff has been open and on a regular basis. We always know what was happening and their thoughts on things regarding her care. Someone is always available to speak to us. We are very happy with our mom being a resident at Brookdale and feel that Brookdale is now her home.

We have only been there for three weeks. So review is limited. I have only been there once since I live out of state. Hopefully my Mom is adjusting to this facility. My brother has gone in once or twice a week. I don’t feel as if we can give an adequate review.

Mom is very happy there. There was an incident with a fellow resident becoming violent...not towards Mom...but witnessed by her. Otherwise staff is very friendly and helpful and loving. They, like most long-term care facilities have occasional issues with lack of staff. I am very aware that staff retention is frequently an issue. They recently had a covid outbreak which I felt they handled well. I feel very confident in the care they give Mom. Overall, Very pleased with Brookdale and would and have recommended them. Thanks again for your assistance with finding a very good fit for Mom.

The staff is incredible. They are so kind and patient. A tremendous relief during a difficult period for our family. We are now able to balance work while ensuring our loved one is being cared for in the bed way possible

[name removed] loves being around other people. She doesn't feel isolated anymore and based on the experience we have had so far with Brookdale Lafayette, we would recommend this community to other families.

There is consistent and friendly staff. Activities are done weekly to keep residents active both on and off of the premises. Celebrations are done to encourage family engagement. A support group is offered to families. At times, the staff is shorthanded.

We like the staff the most-everyone has been very helpful and kind. Sometimes the food selection is the same offerings for several days. I think they could offer a few more options for activities but for the most part we have been very satisfied.

The time came when my dad could no longer live alone... I started searching for memory care facilities in Lafayette & the surrounding areas. My very last tour was Brookdale. When I took my first step in the facility I was greeted by staff with smiles, kindness & compassion. As Sara was showing me around, every single staff member went out of their to welcome me & introduce themselves! The residents were so happy whether they were involved in an activity, or in an area just chatting, EVERYONE was having fun! They have their very own hair Salon, Library, Gym, Gourmet Chef plus, so much more just for the residents! They go on shopping trips every week for their Assisted Living Residents. They have live bands for entertainment! It's phenomenal! Remember that saying, “save the best for last” that's an understatement! Brookdale is absolutely, most definitely the ONLY place for my Dad! The staff at Brookdale are so kind, caring, loving, compassionate & devoted to all of residents!!

My mom is really enjoying her time at Brookdale. I am SO thankful you suggested this facility. It was not even on my radar to check it out. The 1st place we visited felt very cold and institutional. Brookdale feels warm and homey. The staff have been very friendly and helpful. Mom loves the food and is very actively participating in activities each day. We are so happy with the care she is getting. Highly recommend Brookdale!

Areas of improvement - Repairing things in the rooms that are broken, taking broken items out of the room and not leave in the bedroom closet (for residents' safety), not ask the family member if they're coming to see about resident because "it's been a headache", be able to handle new residents that are combative and not comfortable staying yet, not sure about the meals, activities obviously didn't keep my mom busy enough. The overall experience was a nightmare for us. She got there Monday and by Thursday they had called the cops on her and sent her to the hospital before I could get there to check on her. Once at the hospital, they wouldn't let me see her and drugged her up, then sent her to a behavioral hospital. She came back home all bruised up... it was horrible.

My mother has been a resident in Clare Bridge (memory care) for almost 3 years. It had been a wonderful experience for her and our family. She is more active and healthier now than when she lived home alone. Her days are filled with various activities (exercise, bingo, puzzles, games, music, ice cream socials or just visiting with friends ) Many Fridays you can see the Brookdale bus at Holy Cross Church for Mass. Several times a month they go to a local restaurant for lunch. We have also gone to several museums in the area. Our favorite activity is just a joy ride to get some fresh air and stop for a little sweet treat. Brookdale also has planned “Family Fun” days that bring together families members of all ages for a few hours of entertainment. Once you walk through the doors you feel at home. It is well cleaned and decorated for the season. The care takers are very attentive and loving. It has been a great place for my mom. I hope it will be a great place for your loved one also.

Everyone is welcoming and accommodating My sister lives the food and the service as well as some of the entertainment activities. From our first visit we knew this was going to be the best place for her

I have had a great experience with the residents and staff of Brookdale Lafayette! This community is very friendly and supportive group of People that make a great environment that feel like home. I would recommend Brookdale to my closest friends and family.

Mom was living with us for 2 1/2 years before moving into Brookdale and as much as we tried we knew she wasn't receiving enough socialization and exercise. Since moving into Brookdale, she is stronger, happier, and has made so many great friends.

"All" the staff is amazing. They are kind and always friendly and eager to help.

Overall we have had a positive experience for the last 2 1/2 years. Our mom seems content. Any issues we have had have been resolved. Do agree that the director needed to be changed. Do think the rooms ([name removed]) could be refreshed.
