Brookdale Grand Blanc

I would highly recommend. The staff was outstanding. The facility while dated was kept in good condition and very clean.

We have had my parents at Brookdale for several months. Dad is in the assisted living building and mom is in the memory care. We could not be happier with both facilities and the staff. My parents are so well cared for by a professional, competent and friendly staff. On the memory care side, a staff member is assigned to new residents and stays with them for 24 hours, to help them get acclimated. My mom had [name removed]and she was the perfect person for this task. We left that day feeling so sure that mom was in good hands. My sisters and I visit several times a week and have never had any negative issues. We are always greeted with a smile from every single staff person we see. My parents are so well cared for. If one of them is late for a meal or an activity, someone goes to the room to check on them. The staff know all of the residents by name. They are also willing to take my dad over to my mom's building any time he asks. Usually several times per week. They have never made him feel

My Dad is thriving! It was a big adjustment for awhile, but he's settled in, started a Euchre club! Participates in activities, and made friends! He really needed that Socialization! So proud of him!!! It is just such a good match for him! It was such a hard decision, but so worth it in the long run! Nice facility, wonderful staff that engage with him throughout the day! He's a "poster child " of a good fit and transition! They're already planning to celebrate his birthday next month, he has kids of family members that call him "Grampa"!!! So precious! I've been an RN for over 30 years, I know the difference between good and bad Patient care! We're so happy with this decision, knowing my Dad is safe, and active. If I can help anyone else with this decision I'd be happy to help!

My mother’s care at Brookdale was inconsistent and at times even lacking. It was very disappointing to my siblings and me, we were never able to develop a sense of trust and felt like we had to be there each and every day. Some staff were very kind and helpful, but we never were able to get comfortable with staff overall as it changed so frequently and never learned anyone’s names but only just a couple. The “up-front” managerial staff were good, but the hands-on care was lacking. Unfortunately, we did not do enough research or ask enough questions when we chose this memory care center for our mom.

The staff treats you like family and recognize you and your family's needs and wishes. They follow up with medical care and appointments. Very helpful and communication with the family is very good. Special diets are taken in consideration. It has been a great place for my brother.

I would HIGHLY recommend Brookdale for a living facility. I picked this community because of the friendly, comforting, and welcoming atmosphere that Brookdale shows.

I have a friend that lives here and there and I definitely have concerns. The most dangerous issue was when my friend was in the parking lot and fell. He hit his head and fell to the ground and it took over an hour for someone to find and help him. Thankfully he was transported to the hospital ER. Another time I went to visit him and he was walking down the hallway wearing only an opened robe. His hair had not been brushed, his face wasn't shaved and his nails were dirty and long. I helped him back in his room. Staff laughed and said, "Oh, that's just so and so". I know my friend is getting older and more forgetful, but this is not what his family pays for. When I noticed medications on the floor and in cups next to his bed, I asked the "nurse" and they stated resident has a right to refuse. I am sure this is true, but if someone is confused and suffering from dementia, you would think the staff would help him take his medications. Tread carefully here.

Everyone who works there are very kind

They could not keep up with fast declining dementia and quickly changing care needs. Lots of calls home to us about things they should have been able to handle. This place might be fine for someone who is fairly independent.

We are very happy with Brookdale Grand Blanc, and based on the experience we have had so far we would absolutely recommend the community to other families looking for a place for their loved ones.

They are very helpful and attentive to your care of your family. It's a great place, so I would recommend to others.

My loved one seems to like it here, and loves the food. The value for the money is good. We picked this community because, it was most reasonably priced in the area, and the best value. Everything has been great. I would recommend to other families.

The staff members really are very helpful and they do their best to listen to all of our questions and accommodate our needs.

The community has been very helpful in getting our family settled. I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. There are three meals a day served to the residents and they have choices to choose from. There is exercise, trivia, games, and more for the residents to participate in. The community sends a monthly calendar out to the family to see. The staff communication with the family has been very good.

Very happy with Brookdale in Grand Blanc. I would give staff a 10 if I could, they are helpful and present and we could not ask for more. All of the things they promised up front are done regularly and done well. They have a lot of activities provided and they seem to have a good turnout of residents who participate in them. We have been very happy with our choice and would recommend them to others looking.

We have been really happy with the Brookdale Grand community, the staff have been super friendly and given good care so far. We have had no complaints with the meals and dining service and the activities have been really good. It feels like a real neighborhood where it is just a really friendly environment.

There was a COVID outbreak during my loved one's stay and they didn't let me know about this. This was disappointing to me to not be told about this and made it tough for my loved one to be at the community. My loved one fell during their stay and I feel that the staff weren't as attentive due to the pandemic. The staff seem to be friendly at the beginning.
