Brookdale has good physical facilities. Rooms are sized right for the patient. It is clean and well-maintained. The staff is cooperative and provides excellent follow-up when asked questions or presented with issues. There is adequate staff and they are well qualified for their positions. They are willing to work with families to provide programs for the residents (in the Memory unit) when asked. They demonstrate patience to let the new resident settle in before encouraging involvement.

They truly care about the residents. From day 1 the staff has been very friendly, supportive, and accommodating. I'm also impressed by the lack of turnover of the staff - it's evident it's a great place to work! When I walked in it reminded me of the assisted living facility my Aunt lived in in California so I know she would feel at home. The room options was also great.

The staff were great, they got to know my loved one and treated her well. My loved one complained often about the food. She didn't enjoy most of the meals and prepared many of her meals in her room instead of the dining room. The activities are good for those who participate, but the weekend activities were very limited. Overall, we were satisfied but would not recommend unless the family is willing and able to pitch in for buying groceries, getting their loved one out and involved, and coordinating doctors appointment etc. The water is not safe for drinking. The facility supplies limited bottles so residents must purchase all water they intend to consume.

My mom was only there a few months, as she fell and broke her hip after being there about 6 weeks, and passed away a few weeks after that. The people there were very nice, but seemed to be understaffed.

It's good for very independent people who need little care but becomes very expensive for each aspect of care and the staff is not trained for caregiving. General food service is good but substandard in the dementia unit. Memory care is not well managed.

The staff is very attentive to Evelyn's needs and gets her involved in many things. Compared to [facility name removed] in Worcester where she was, Eddy Pond felt more open and like home.

Pros 1) Staff is very friendly. 2) Apartments are very nice with bedroom(s), walk-in bath(s), living/dining area with kitchen sink and refrigerator. 3) Tv room with nightly shows and snacks, creativity room and game room albeit game room is small. 4) Assigned seating in dining allows staff to take attendance and check on missing residents. 5) Communication good. Emails sent to resident's caregiver regarding family events (family Bingo, Holiday party, etc.) and Covid updates. 6) Residents wear medical alert watch or necklace and vitals are checked periodically. 7) Cost. Like the base fee with ability to add on (or take off) monthly fees for additional ADLs as needed. Cons 1) Facility appears a little outdated. (There were leaks in the hallway ceilings and thermostat controls not great.) Overall Would definitely recommend.

From the beginning, the staff at Brookdale Eddy Pond West were very helpful and pleasant to work with. They were flexible with move-in dates and we were able to move my loved one in without time restrictions. The staff are very attentive to the residents and they get to know each person and their family. The facility is kept clean and is welcoming and I feel that my family member is in a safe environment and is well cared for. I would highly recommend Brookdale Eddy Pond West for both Assisted Living and Memory Care.

Do not even consider this facility! This place was decent about 2 years ago when I placed my mom here. Ever since then, things have Deteriorated. This building is filled with toxic mold because it wasn’t flashed properly. My mom was placed in a temporary studio while she waited for her apartment to be renovated. When I checked on the progress , I saw black mold on everything going 10 feet into the building. I was assured that proper remediation practices would be used but they were not. They left these apartments open to the rest of the building and tracked mold on the carpets and didn’t replace them. Since then, they’ve had bedbugs, legionnaires disease which keeps causing people to get sick. At one point, the dining room was closed for months The name of Covid, but it was because of employee turnover. The residents were given awful food in Styrofoam containers. There is not enough room here to even scratch the surface of how terrible this place is. The only good are The activities.

The food in the main dining room is good, but needs improvement in the Memory Care Unit. Activities are yet to be determined, but overall value is good.

My loved one was only here for 12 hours before she fell. They had no idea what time she fell because it was overnight. They fought with me to give my money back. They only ended up sending me $1000 back, or at least that is all I have gotten so far. They interviewed her and said she was appropriate to be there but apparently she was not. I would tell others to make sure you read every single thing in the contract and ask all the questions.

My parent use do live in west building . Truthfully speaking since [name removed]took over as ED this place has gone down hill. The memory care unit is dirty. The carpet, the kitchen very filthy. They have bedbugs and they are eating the residents alive, you can visibly see them even during the day. Bedbugs have been seen in the memory care unit kitchen plates that the residents eat with. This place is TERRIBLE, I would NEVER recommend it to anyone.

I toured this community and it was great! The place is beautiful. The staff was very friendly. It's very clean and a gorgeous atmosphere. The rooms were smaller than some of the other places, but had a great view. The tour guide was outstanding and went above and beyond. So friendly and welcoming. They even sent us a flower/fruit basket after our tour. This was my first choice for my loved one, but she chose another place.
Feel most of my needs are taken care of. Food is good.
