Brookdale Bend

The staff and management at Brookdale are excellent at what they do and at this time have our full trust and confidence.They are always available with information and encouragement. [name removed] has settled in and is comfortable with his surroundings. They have even given him responsibilities helping other patients.

The staff at Brookdale took such great care of our family member. They consistently communicated and shared pictures of activities and outings. He shared many happy times there until he passed. We were so lucky to have such a great place for his final year. Thanks so much!

My wife has Alzheimer’s. Brookdale is providing her with excellent care and those who love her with confidence that she is in good hands. The care givers care. They are positive confident professionals. The facility is always clean. The food is nutritious. My wife is safe and content.

We fell in love with this place at first glance but then our dad wasn’t being showered, clothes and room not cleaned. He didn’t like the noisy roommates they paired him with. You would think for the crazy cost he would have his own room. Seven thousand + per month. We got a surprise “back payment” bill of thousands because they said they made an error on billing for six months prior. The sales person was fantastic but this is a business first and a care facility second. It looks cute but not at all up to standards we were sold.

It's a great place for my mom. We picked this community over other places, because it was smaller than most.

We were very excited about getting our aunt into what we thought would be a great place. She has Lewy Body DEMENTIA and needs alot of care. Unfortunately we ran into problems such as her room not being cleaned and her clothing not being changed each day and then all of a sudden our bill jumped up to over [fee removed] . We were not happy with the care she was getting and made our concerns known. Then we started receiving emails telling us of places that they thought she would be better off. Needless to say we have found her a place were the staff will take better care of her and the price is all inclusive and much lower I did not enjoy going to see my aunt as some of the staff were not very pleasant to deal with. The lady who runs the sales part is very nice and I enjoyed dealing with her. .

We love it here. The staff is fantastic. They communicate when things are going on and call when they need to if my grandma falls or is acting more out of sorts than normal. You can tell they care. The Executive Director [name removed] is amazing. I cannot say enough good things about this place. My grandma is safe and well cared for.

It feels good to enter the facility and encounter a well staffed, knowledgeable and friendly group of service providers. I feel good to witness how my family member is so well taken care of.

I am so relieved that my mom is in a safe place, where she is receiving the care that she needs. I have only been able to visit her sporadically, as I live out of state. The first time I visited, when she was admitted, she was unhappy about her transition, but I felt that she was receiving good oversight, from concerned staff who offered personalized attention. 6 months later, my visit was preceded by a Covid scare, so there were new restrictions (understandably) that made the visit less enjoyable. Also, I was there on a weekend, when staffing was limited due to Covid concerns. Still, I was disappointed to find that there was not better attention given to important details. I understand that everyone is experiencing staffing issues, but the lack of continuity and low ratios of staff to residents were a little concerning. Hopefully as the Covid scare abates, things will normalize.

This has been an underwhelming process with this facility. When we have to ask for the room to be cleaned, laundry to be done, and the correct medications to be administered appropriately, it makes you wonder what we are paying them for if we are doing their jobs for them.

My loved one is currently a resident at Brookdale Bend and the experience at this facility has been very good so far. The cleanliness and friendliness are great! The staff are great. The meals, activities, and value for cost are good! I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

My father in law was a resident from April 2022 to November 2022 when he passed away. I would never recommend this facility to anyone. I am a retired RN and was concerned and greatly disappointed in the care he received. Problems with medication tracking and untimely response to Doctor’s orders. Insufficient care especially towards the end of his life. Problems with housekeeping and resistance of company in finding temporary services while they were trying to fill position. Lack of timely response to concerns or questions from management . Loss of personal clothing and linens. Although I was a vocal advocate for my father in law and contacted the Ombudsman several times there was lack of resolution to our concerns with staff at facility. They were charging $[removed] per month for self pay. They wanted to increase his level of care when he was in hospice. When he passed away there was no acknowledgment from management and minimal from caregivers. So rank a #1 in these areas. Food was ok.

I had the opportunity to visit Brookdale Bend and meet with their new Executive Director and their Marketing Director. They were very welcoming and showed me the community. The residents to whom I was introduced seemed to be happy and appeared to be engaged in a variety of activities. The rooms were larger than I anticipated. The building as a whole has a home-like feel from the moment you enter the door. I enjoyed my visit.

The director [name removed] and the one caregiver [name removed] are wonderful! They send me pictures and updates and I really appreciate that. When we were inside we thought it was really nice from what we saw. I have seen pictures of activities and it looks like they all really enjoy it. That's all I can really say. I believe the cost is high but you get what you pay for so I believe it's worth the money. I would recommend to others.

My family and loved one have had a great experience with Brookdale. The staff is spectacular! They did everything they could to make us and my loved one comfortable. Everyone has been friendly. Brookdale has been a great blessing for our loved one and family. A Place for Mom, made it all possible, thank you.

My Parents have been residents of Bend Brookdale since 2021. When they moved in we were promised resident activities and outings. Unfortunately they were not happening. We were considering moving our parents to another facility as we were seeing a decline in there social interactions. We have changed our minds on the move with the hiring of the new executive director [name removed]. She has hired [name removed] as activities director. I have had the pleasure of seeing Emily in action. I participated in the writing of Easter cards and stuffing Easter eggs with treats with my parents.I also attended a Mother’s Day celebration. [name removed] is so kind and patient to each and every resident. She plans activities that all residents love to attend. It warms my heart to see everyone gathered in the community area participating with smiles on their faces. My dad was an avid hunter. I received a photo of my parents and their neighbor with nerf guns. My family loves the updates and photos. [name removed] is a blessing !!!

I just wanted to say how impressed I am with the new Activities Director at Brookdale in Bend. I first met her at their Mother’s Day Brunch which was absolutely fantastic and I think the nicest event they've had in the year my Sister has lived there. Every single detail was so well thought out from the lovely decorations, the truly delicious food, the cards and flowers they gave to each resident; they even had a “photo booth” to take pictures of the special day with you with your loved one! What a gift to the families. She seems so competent and caring – I can’t wait to see what’s next!

The Mother’s Day celebration was absolutely amazing! Great food, fun conversations, and the music was so enjoyable! The staff were all helpful and nice. Wonderful atmosphere and fun celebration for all the mothers. The program manager at Brookdale Bend has made a huge impact on this community in such a short time! She deserves every bit of recognition for how hard she works and how much she does for each resident.

I visited my grandparents for mother's day celebration. It was absolutely beautiful! I have seen a tremendous change since the new executive director and activities director started. The care has improved, food as improved, the residents are more engaged and lively. I'm so grateful to [name removed], [name removed], and the resident of brookdale staff for all the wonderful improvements.

The new activities director, [name removed], is doing a great job in having a variety of activities daily and making each resident feel included and special. She is going above and beyond to arrange very special events for the residents to enjoy. She is making their lives better and healthier with exercise and fun and creative activities. She truly cares about the residents and the residents are fortunate to have her. Thank you [name removed]
