We like the apartment, we had to move in a hurry. We do like the staff, and they are very solicitous. I didn’t give a 5 star because the meal haven’t been good lately. The meat isn’t tender so sometimes it is hard to eat. There have been some winners and sometimes it doesn’t all melt together. We would like to know the changes on medication and when it is administered.... Read more

I like the new director we have right now. She has good leadership and is always free to talk to. She listens and keeps us informed based on meetings and follows up on questions. It is difficult to satisfy everyone with food, but they do a good job sometimes. The staff is very good, but some of them need a little more training.

[name removed] had just started as the nurse in charge of care. She responded quickly and did my Dads assessment in a timely manner. She also is very understanding. [name removed] (director?) was honest and open re: price and level of care they can provide. She also has a great sense of humor. I felt like she cares about the residents. Facility: Cleanliness, surrounding grounds, apartment size, and location

Its been fine here. Everyone here is about the same as the other buildings I've lived at. I'm very independent, so everyone pretty much leaves me alone. I'm happy here and feel good here.

I have lived here almost four. My apartment is always treated as my own personal space. I feel my emotional needs as well as physical needs are cared for. In as "assisted living" facility it is so important to feel as much "you own person" as possible. Here at Brookdale I do.

I came believing that I was going to be leaving in a couple months, but I loved it so much that I ended up staying. I have never felt lonely, and I always look forward to the day.

Our friend moved here. He’s really become part of the community. He was living alone for several years. He’s made a lot of friends and this community has lots of family events we can join even though we’re not his family. Grounds are well kept.

They messed up my father in laws meds. They continuously served him whole food while he was on a strict puréed food only diet. He did not have a working "panic" button. Would press it multiple times and no one ever came, thankfully me and my husband lived close and were able to get to him in a timely fashion. The cost was absolutely insane for the care we received. They would not empty his catheter nor help him in any capacity. Our bill for one month was $[removed]. He was supposed to be getting highest level of care. It was a horrible experience.

March 11, 2024We take your comments seriously and are committed to providing quality care and services to our residents and their families. Our management team has reviewed these concerns and we wish to assure you the safety and well-being of our residents is our top priority.
Overall, I would say my mom moved in during a chaotic time. There were Covid cases in the home. The dining room was closed. Many workers were ill, as well as several residents. Even with this happening the people working were respectful, kind and concerned about keeping everyone safe. Whenever I have a concern about something to do with mom, I address it with the staff and they take care of it. It is not the flashiest Assisted Living home. It is older and doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but what they do have is people that care and to me that is more important.

We toured Brookdale Arbor Place during our search for an Assisted Living facility for our loved one. This location had the highest level of end of life care available. However it also had very predatory pricing practices (hidden point values and no actual answers on how much each service would be), and the sales person kept pushing hard sells. The location felt like a prison, it was very dark and the hallways felt depressing. The food used "proprietary seasoning blends" with no accountability available for food safety for allergens. The quality of the furniture in the public areas was much lower and harsher than desirable.

I liked the place until about a month ago. There is a theft problem that I'm not sure they have addressed. They did not have a safe drawer with a lock available for at least 2 1/2 months, not sure if she has one yet. They are having a large staff turnover and as of 3 weeks ago they don't eat together because of Covid. My mom also had to stay in the hospital 2 extra days because the Brookdale nurse delayed getting to the hospital for a dismissal evaluation

Found my father in urine soaked t shirts twice in past month. He began falling and they made no changes to his care plan. It took them 7 days to adjust his care plan after he was discharged from ER in January, so I had to take time off work to care for him. They told social worker that they could care for him. The list is longer...

It was a horrible experience and they should not even be in business. The safety of my father in law was a big concern as they did not serve his meals correctly, his meds on time, properly bath, or take care of his apartment. We didn't last a month there and had to move him out. The communication was terrible. When asked to respond to our concerns we were met with silence. It was such a high price and not worth one penny.

April 5, 2023Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. Your feedback will be shared with management.
When I was looking for a place for my loved one as being assisted living, one of my criteria was to make sure they had a spend down. They did but then something occurred with my loved one and she was in and out of the ER. They told me they could no longer keep her and that she needed memory care and I agreed. I also picked them because they had memory care available. I found out that it was not a spend down though and I was never told that in the beginning. Then I had to go through the whole process again.

August 4, 2022We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. The health and well-being of our residents is our top priority and we have shared your concerns with our management team for review.
They offer a great selection of activities for the residents, their activities board always has things posted on it. We have had some issues with the basic care needs with our loved one so we do think they could improve on their communication skills and internal organization.

We chose Brookdale Arbor Place because if my mother were to run out of money, Medicaid would take over and we would not have to move her again. During our tour, the residents came up to us came up to us told us how much my mother would like it here. It is a very clean friendly and welcoming place. They have been great with her and I would recommend them to others families looking.

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Arbor Place 8.4 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
