The dementia unit staff were highly skilled and kind. The facility included an outdoor garden that was open most of the time that my aunt loved. It means so much to me that during the last four months of her life, my aunt was able to sit outside in the sunshine, touch the flowers and vegetables growing in the garden, and be surrounded by caring people. Waltham Crossings was also very accommodating during the period of several weeks up to my aunts' death and supported our family during that difficult time. As my aunt's needs changed, Waltham crossings was very flexible about changing the services she received. I am deeply grateful to the staff and leadership.... Read more

December 5, 2024Hello Linda, Thank you so much for your kind words and for leaving such a thoughtful review. We are glad to hear about your positive experience with our community and are happy to have had the opportunity to provide your aunt with the excellent care she deserved. Your compliments mean the world to our team. Thank you for sharing, and thank you for choosing Benchmark Senior Living at Waltham Crossings!
Benchmark at Waltham Crossing was great. My wife has since died but they still reach out to me. Benchmark had helpful ideas for any issue we encountered during the stay there. My wife was there 13 months and I was happy with the care.

My mother was at the level of end of life so our experience was different than if she was just AL, but as a nurse practitioner who took care of patients in AL it seemed to be one of the better facilities.

Very happy with Waltham Crossings so far! I would say them he food is good, staff are caring and flexible, and the overall feeling of a caring community is present. The administration is especially responsive to needs and has been transparent and helpful in the process. We are pleased that our parents feel safe and cared for (and close to their children in Massachusetts) at Waltham Crossings.

We picked this community because I knew people already there. Liked the atmosphere and the staff as soon as I first walked in. Thought it was a great value for the money compared to a traditional nursing/rehab facility. I would tell a friend "Do not hesitate to place a loved one at Waltham Crossings"

Just be clear about what your needs are and are they able to provide what you want. Be involved with staff. I would recommend Benchmark to other families.

The have thoughtful caregivers in such numbers that the residents are cared for properly and promptly. The staff communication with the family has been very good. Suggestions are made and they communicate with the doctor when they have medication suggestions.

This is a great place. They are very friendly here with a very clean, open, and lighter atmosphere compared to other communities in the area. The staff communication with the family has been great. There is a standard menu or a daily special menu that changes that the residents can choose from. There are three meals a day served to the residents as well. Bingo, bowling, movies, arts and crafts, field trips, religious services, and more are some of the activities for the residents to choose from.

My aunt has only been at the local Benchmark community since May of this year, but it has been a very positive experience. I'm familiar with these intuitions because my mom was in two of them and the quality of care is really high here. I really appreciate the nursing staff; they're very attentive to my aunts situation and they have provided very helpful advice on how to manage my aunts care.

The care is excellent, and the staff is wonderful and attentive. The community needs to modernize the activities for younger residential cliental. I believe that the music is from the 20s and 30s and they need to update it up to the 60s. The community is willing to work with the residents to try and find items that the residents will eat. The menu is a lot of pasta and meat options. It would be nice to offer more veggie choices, especially fresh veggies. Again, they are trying their hardest in finding the foods that the residents will enjoy, and I believe this deserves high marks. The nursing the staff are top rate as well.

The staff, and the director particularly, are exceptionally empathetic to your situation. They gave us endless time and contact. The care has been wonderful. They're very quick to respond to the needs and issues of the residents. They've communicated well with any Covid-related information. The facility is nice, easy to get around, and well lit. The hallways have decorative wainscoting that actually has handles the residents can hold onto as they walk the hallways. And it just has a very homey feel to it.

The director was good during our loved ones stay, the nursing director was excellent and all the individualized care shown to our loved one that came from the CNA's was excellent. They really did care about my husband. The meals are facility food which is to be expected but overall the meals weren't bad. It was expensive but compared to other communities in the area the value was better that expected.

Benchmark is a very nice facility, this was actually our second choice. It is in a great location and they have a stellar kitchen and menu, if you are a foodie this would definitely be the place to go. We have nothing negative to say about this facility, it just came down to a gut feeling we had.
Our family had an in person tour and the tour was fine but we did not really like the facility because of its location.
Response from Benchmark Senior Living at Waltham Crossings
September 28, 2021Hello, thanks for your review. We are sorry to hear that you were not happy with your tour of our community. If you are ever reconsidering, we encourage you to give us a second look!
We chose Benchmark Senior Living because we went to tour and we were quite impressed, it is a very nice place. The room sizes in memory care are very good, she has a single room with a nice outside view. They do have all different levels of living here. I would definitely recommend to others looking.

I would tell my friends it is a good place. It is friendly and comfortable. The room sizes are good. My loved one is in the lower level which is specialized care, than the regular units. The upstairs units seem to be a little bigger, we briefly walked in and out.

We chose this community because it had a good physical building layout, and my mom is mostly blind. Also the staff was very approachable and friendly from the management all the way down. The room sizes were adequate. The food was good, my mom preferred it over the other place she was at. Our favorite part about the community is how involved all of the staff are with the residents and how kind they and responsive they are with requests.

My father was a resident in the memory care unit for three weeks. He fell and contracted pneumonia in his first week. I had to hire my own nighttime aides after one week. I removed him after the third week. I believe my father was being abused in their facility. He had bruises, they couldn’t explain how he fell. These memory care units are not safe for elderly dementia residents. They only care about the money and they are extremely deceitful. My father is gone now, my heart breaks for all the elderly in these places. There is little to no oversight for these facilities. I have attempted to complain to many entities and I’m still trying. If you have a bad experience, keep complaining, keep giving bad reviews. Our elderly deserve so much better.
