Overall pleased and extremely relieved!

The facility is always clean but there is frequently a sewage smell in the parking lot and inside in the afternoons. I think from bad plumbing which has been a constant issue. The staff has been wonderful attentive and responsive. Administrative staff 4 for lack of communication at times (shutting off water without notice, quarantine without explanation). But [name removed] gets a 10 - she is fantastic The food is horrible. We are trying to find a solution but most times it is not edible. There are lots of great activities There are unkept promises ie: the shuttle is not available as was said initially and the food is so bad. The caregivers and all the staff are wonderful, friendly and so helpful! Special shout out to [name removed] the marketing director and care giver [name removed]. She has shown great care for my parents when they were sick and when my dad fell. The kitchen/dining room staff is also very nice and attentive - unfortunately I the food has been poor quality I believe from lack of skills in that department. Wonderful people and facility

We placed my mother in the memory care unit at Avista. The staff from the receptionist, office and caretakers were absolutely wonderful. They took very good care of my mother and were very compassionate with us. I would highly recommend this facility. I would also like to thank [name removed] for everything she did for us and for her loving compassion.

Our experience at Foothills Place

The system could use improvement. I think that the staff is overworked and underpaid/appreciated. The staff members at Foothills Place were great! They are all truly good people that are trying their best to do right

Not as nice as expected

All of the people who were running the place that I initially interviewed are now gone, they've had a lot of changes with their staff. My experience has been kind of mixed, there were some really good things and a lot has fallen off. I'm unsure if it's because they're getting new people onboard. One of the bigger reasons I'd give Foothills Place lower scores is because the residents will push their buttons and wait extended periods of time to get help. I'm unsure if that's related to the quality of their staff, their lack of staff, or both.

A good place mom

I think it is a really good mid-sized facility. It is not too big and it is not too small. They have lots of activities going on every afternoon. Mom says they keep them super busy and she is tired by the end of the day. They have a set menu each week and there are a couple of options, if you do not like the options then they have soups salads and sandwiches available. The variety looks to be really good. I would definitely recommend Foothills Place to others looking.

it is a nice community

All of the staff that we have encountered have been great, the gal that works at the front desk is nice, the nurses and house keepers are so friendly. Our loved ones do complain occasionally about the meals being to bland. We do know they have plenty of activities going on, but we do wish the staff would be encourage or invite our loved ones down more to get them out of their rooms and socialize with the others.

I Wish I Was There

The staff that I have met are very happy, friendly, and professional. This has been a good community for my friend. There are lots of activities for the residents to choose from. I would recommend Foothills Place to others, and already have to friends. Some of the activities available include movie night, games, cards, exercise classes, and more for the residents to engage with.

Great Caring staff

The staff were absolutely amazing, however they did not have enough staff to give medicine out over night. My loved one ended up without medication for a long period of time due to no medication being given at night. This was not okay to me and something should have been done and more staff hired to cover this gap. My only issue was the staffing but the people there were amazing.

Be An Advocate for Your Loved One, and Check Everything Over

I would recommend you stay on top of the caregivers to make sure they give the medications correctly to your loved one. I would also recommend you verify this information several times. The activities are limited and the outings have been canceled due to the pandemic.

Overall experience has been great.

My only negative remark is that one department is very slow to respond to a request that was much needed. This has resulted in a long delay still pending with my long-term insurance company. But my relative is very satisfied with this facility. She has made such progress in her social behavior. This facility is so much more efficient and safe than the facility I moved her from.

Buyer Beware

I'm not getting the service I thought I would get. Everything could be improved to allow a better experience for the residents. The staff seem to avoid the residents as much as they can. The food is fair, and they don't seem to accommodate special dietary restrictions.

It is a good place, but needs to improve

The space is very nice, we are very happy with the configuration of the rooms and the psychical look of the place and the people are very nice. Everyone that works there is doing their best and showing a lot of care towards the residents. However there are improvements that could be made, and the first is their staffing. They are way under staffed which causes implication with the quality of the care. Also, they do not have a regular nursing staff so they are having to bring temp nurses in from other agencies Also the dining hall is understaffed which causes issues with the overall service.

I Placed My Loved One in Heaven Before Heaven

My loved one enjoyed the food, and it was the best the best they had. The staff knows people by name. In the times I was there not once did I see a staff member lose their patience with the residents. They were respectful, polite, professional, and kept repeating requests. if necessary The place was clean and there was no smell. People are willing to help you, even if it isn't their job to help in that area. The staff wanted to be there. The residents help and watch over each other. It has a nice mix of men and women in the community. We are thinking about going and getting a unit with this community. I will always highly recommend the community to others. I would put my dearest family member here again. The community is pet friendly.
