Ardenwoods has been okay. The food varies from week to week - it is mediocre. The internet service and TV are bad. The staff is friendly and helpful.

We picked this community, because it had more overall of the things that my mom was looking for. I can say that I like it there. Also, I feel that working remotely, it's hard for you to get a real idea of what's available here. There are many places here that I wasn't aware of until I looked for myself.

My parents moved into Arden Woods just prior to Covid and the resulting lock downs. They decided after that, that they needed to move closer to family. However, it has been almost 2 years, and they haven’t gotten their $[removed]deposit back. Arden Woods can hold onto your deposit for up to 3 years after you have moved out.

I toured Ardenwoods and it was good. Cleanliness seemed good. They were informative, all general areas covered. I didn't meet many/any staff really beyond introductions.
The meals are good but the vegetables are repetitive and I think that there could be more. They are open and friendly and active in this community. They are also very responsive to any needs that I have. They have a lot of work out activities like yoga, stability and aqua size activities. There is a warm pool that is very inviting. We also have activities like going to restaurants, a group that meets to play bridge and more for the residents to do to stay busy.

This community is more for independent living. It was very, very nice though.
I think they're the best. I like the very homey atmosphere. There are no intruders or people who can just come on in when they want to. They make appointments for everything, whether it's my physical therapist or someone from the office. That way I know what to expect for the day. The food is excellent. I'm used to Louisiana cooking and that type of food. Now I'm in North Carolina and thinking "Oh god, I'm never going to eat that way again." To my surprise, I would call the food here "haute cuisine." It's very creative, and I have a lot of choices available. My only complaint is that they don't have pancakes every Sunday at brunch. I'm not participating in the activities , but the way I see other people reacting to them is just marvelous. I think the cost is a little steep, but then I think of other places that don't do as much for their resident. So I think it's a normal rate.

We love it Ardenwoods. The staff are very good with people coming in that are new. The food is excellent and the service is just wonderful. If I push my button it automatically gets a hold of someone and they come right away. There are lots of activities. They have everything imaginable. The exercise classes I have been to are wonderful. I recently went on a bus trip to the theater and it was just excellent. They drop you off right out front and pick you up there too. The rent I will say is a little high and they will raise the price each year. So that is a little scary to hear. I do also wish the apartment had a washer and dryer in it. They have a laundry room that you have to go to. They also need more storage here. The landscaping is absolutely gorgeous and I have a beautiful view. I have not heard of one resident who has said they don't want to be here.

After researching and visiting several retirement communities, I chose Ardenwoods based on activities that seemed to fit my lifestyle, the 90 % financial arrangement which gave me assurance if things didn't work out, and ultimately, the attitude of the staff. Both caring and professional, the staff works together to make each resident important to the whole community. I compliment myself on having made an excellent choice.

A Place for Mom has scored Ardenwoods 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
