My loved one currently lives here and she is very happy! There are a lot of activities to do or to not do. The choice is hers. It is independent living so no intrusive people coming to "check" on her every couple of hours but I have peace of mind knowing she is not alone. Someone is always on duty to help. Food is great and servers kind, they do work a lot of hours but good help is hard to find. They have maid service weekly at no extra cost and their driver takes mom wherever she needs, within reason and area. Cost is on the high side but worth it in my opinion and my mom's. She feels safe, the building is kept up and they are always trying to update colors on walls, floors and general appearance. The office staff is great! Those ladies are something else! Always available to talk to me if I have any concerns. They truly care about the people living there. It is definitely this families blessing to know our loved ones are well cared for and loved!!... Just minutes from beautiful white sand beaches, American House Bluewater Bay is a resort-style community located in Niceville, Florida. They offer maintenance-free living, one- and two-bedroom private apartments, and large common spaces for residents to enjoy with friends and family. The well-manicured grounds feature an outdoor gazebo that overlooks a tranquil fountain where residents can relax and enjoy the outdoors. On pleasant nights, friends and neighbors congregate around the outdoor firepit for great conversation and s'mores.
This community offers excellent amenities for active seniors. Residents can practice their skills at the indoor putting green, then relax by the pool and hot tub. For those who enjoy games, this community has a billiards room and a card room. One of the most popular activities here is a community happy hour, which takes place at the Treetop Lounge & Bar. After drinks, enjoy a chef-prepared meal in the main dining area or the Silver Spoon private dining room.

Truth be told, IT'S ALL THE ABOVE. Ticket prices star over $[removed] just to test these waters. Mr. VP of Operations, your plea for a phone call to address your situations is so heartwarming. Did YOU make any phone calls or in person visits to right your sinking ship? When we voice our concerns here locally, all we ever get is "corporate wants it this way". Well, seems to me that remark alone verifies corporate already knows. The food and service here is only marginal, it's very sketchy. Protein foods hardly exist, and servings are skimpy. Very delicious looking pictures adorn your marketing materials. Large grilled shrimp and marinated skirt steak sounds wonderful. However, in reality it never appears. There are sixteen bottles of wine on the wall at the entrance of the dining hall. That alone gives the impression that a taste just might be offered inward. However, nothing resembling the contents of these dummy bottles can be had inside. So. Sir, do we just go down with the ship?

Response from American House Bluewater Bay
May 9, 2023John, we appreciate your feedback and encourage you to elaborate on your experience with us. Please feel free to call our Home Office at 248-203-1800. We look forward to hearing from you.
American House Bluewater Bay has unlimited probabilities. However, those high-hope targets are being squandered with way too much management being charged with responsibilities and job-titles that are not being delivered upon. Residents should never experience dietary rationing, limitations or inadequacies at this price point. 1.) It's expensive. The promised degree of top-shelf living is not being delivered to the residents on many levels. 2.) Way too much administrative and coordination costs stirred into the mix for the finished product being offered. 3.) Residents constantly hearing budgeting issues and personal problems does not make for a very pleasurable living arrangement. 4.) Don't let the guise of "Independent Living" win you over. Some residents here live very well and independent indeed. However, some are bedridden with the ability to privately fund caregivers until their demise. Could very well be seen as a monetarily gifted persons private end-of-life sanctuary.

Response from American House Bluewater Bay
October 1, 2021Your kind compliments mean the world to our team at American House! It is our pleasure to serve our residents and their families each and every day. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!
it is a nice, but there are a lot of cliques and a lot of gossip that hurts people. We have bingo 3 days a week, they had card games, but if you're not part of one of the cliques-they bluntly tell you they don't want you. There can be inconsistency on what can and can't be done. I think it is finally get resolved, it has taken time to get it figured out.

Response from American House Bluewater Bay
November 23, 2020Thank you for the review of our community. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and being so open with us.
They seem like they are trying to keep the community clean, although the carpeting does seem like it needs to be changed out. They offer activities for the residents to participate in. We do think American House Bluewater Bay is over priced.

We are happy with the care at this community. The staff is very nice and caring. They have an excellent variety of good meals that my father in law does enjoy. The do have activities for those who want to participate. We would recommend other families to this beautiful community for the care and value.
