Through out my career I have had the opportunity to partner with may different assisted living and memory care communities, none have impressed me as much as AltaVita Senior Residences. AltaVita has cultivated an environment that is providing residents, resident families, and employees, with a safe caring and loving atmosphere. I have never seen such care and dedication to residents as what their caregivers have displayed. The activities department is so robust that they even have their own choir made of AltaVita residents and have even taken them to recording studio to create an album! The local and privately owned aspect of this community carries through from the management to the care staff and you don't ever feel like you are in a large cooperate company, at a huge fancy hotel, or like you are just a number. AltaVita makes you feel like you are right at home! Honestly 5 stars is not enough to express how amazing this community is.

Front gatekeeper doesn't allow you to talk to a marketing person after two attempts to make contact. Came on-site on Thursday [date removed] at 4:30pm and they were in a meeting and wouldn't even come out. So I thought maybe I would give them a second try. Just a bad receptionist. Called on Saturday 9:49am and no one on site (Marketing) not even the executive manager to help me. The lady was almost rude when I asked to get information. All I wanted to do is find a place for my father. They obviously have too much business to bother helping someone. Management should train their personell to make the prospect feel important or they may find their facility empty someday. Very disappointed with the push off attitude they gave me after two attempts. I don't have a lot of time to accommodate their time schedules. I heard good things about the place had the money to spend, but will spread the word they need new management. I have no idea of how people are treated there.

My mom was only with AltaVita for a month before her passing, and in that month I saw her happier than she had been in the past 5 years. They have a very professional staff, they pay attention to details, and they showed me over and over that they’re very caring for every one of their residents. They make sure they give extra attention to those that need it the most or need help eating and they always go that extra mile to give them a gentle touch on their backs, it’s so heartwarming. They spend time talking to people and they watch out for each other. If one staff person is busy, another person will make sure their time is spent helping someone else. I was lucky to eat lunch there twice and both times the food was great. I watched them check and record the food temperature several times. They monitor the quality of the food very closely and it’s always well prepared. The only constructive thing I would say is that it’d be nice if they could figure out the individual portion needs to keep the residents from over eating. Everything has been clean every time I’ve visited and I’ve never noticed anything out of order or in disarray. The residents all seemed to be happy and personable. Even when a resident was being difficult, a staff member would always handle it in a positive way. AltaVita is kind of expensive, but at the end of the day it’s worth the price. They use the money they receive for good things, to help make their residents’ lives better. It felt like they were there for the people, not the profit. I’m glad I was able to help my mom live out her last days here because they truly made her feel like she was home.

November 16, 2017Thank- you for the kind words. You touched on so many items, from attention to details, to our food services, and how happy your mom was. It was our pleasure to serve your family. Your still a part of our AltaVita Family, and hope your taking care of yourself. Please reach out if you need anything, we are here. Thank-you for sharing your mom with us.
We toured this community and we were happy with the staff who were very nice and answered the questions that we had on the care that is offered here. The menu looking appealing and the offer a nice list of activities for the residents. This is a large community. We would recommend this community to other families to tour for the care of a loved one.

I did not have a good experience when we were looking at using this community for a respite stay. They double booked my loved one and they did not tell us until the last minute. This is a brand new nice community. They offer memory care and mom was not quite ready for this.

Response from AltaVita Assisted Living Memory Care Centre
November 17, 2017I am sorry to hear we could not accommodate your loved one for a respite stay. Respite is subject to room availability, which can make it difficult to guarantee. If we don't have a room available we do call other communities to help find the families alternatives. Sorry this was not the case with your family.
The design of this facility is great, as there are four distinctive and beautifully decorated communities of about a dozen residents each, within the same building. All are connected by an easy-to-walk carpeted hallway arranged in a square. Activity rooms are nearby, and there is a large outdoor patio in the center, with plenty of seating, as well as small patios off each "pod's" dining room. The rooms and baths are attractive and up-to-date. Residents can participate in several different engaging activities every day, with a group sizable enough to make it fun. The choir of 20-30 members is very good! The activity directors are quite creative and upbeat. They encourage residents to participate, but can also bring projects to a resident's room if that is preferable. There is an LPN on staff most of the time, and caregivers are attentive and positive. The food is nutritious, but sometimes a bit bland or hard to chew. However, my mom really enjoys the meals, especially the home-baked rolls! The entire staff of AltaVita is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful toward residents and families, and have responded quickly to our requests. I would definitely recommend AltaVita to anyone needing memory care for a family member.

September 28, 2015Thank you for your comments, we are very proud that you have experienced the essence of AltaVita!
My mother was in a small Assisted Living in Longmont and when her care got to be to great we began the search for a facility that could deal with her ever changing mental loss and physical changes. Alta Vita was a bit pricey for our budget but well worth it for my mom and us. I always felt mom was well cared for and we were well communicated with about her changes. Dr. Nekoorad-Long is the medical director and maintains her medical practice in the building this is a great resource as well. Alta Vita is not nursing home level care but they do have LPN's on each shift throughout the day which is great peace of mind and they do keep the family well informed if changes are necessary in meds or behavior changes are significant. Also their nutritionist was amazing and worked well with us, mom, hospice to meet mom's ever changing needs. The caregivers on each wing will do some training in every wing so they always know every resident and they are wonderful. There are constantly activities being offered by a staff of three activities directors with one being specific to in room mental activities for those unable to participate in group activities. Mom had her own room, TV, bathroom and it was always clean, if she wanted to be in her room they were fine with that but they did encourage her to interact with all the residents. When my mom passed away recently the staff was saddened as well and they really only knew my mom near the end so they were amazing. This facility works well with hospice as well and I just cannot say enough about it, great experience, amazing staff from directors to janitorial staff it's a wonderful place. You couldn't choose a better place for your precious family member then Alta Vita in Longmont.

This might be too much for my mom. Nice facility but they discourage personal tvs. My mom would freak! Also, I don't know that she requires as much care as this one offers.
