My mother has been to this Rehabilitation Facility twice in 5 years. Absolutely wonderful. The entire staff is wonderful including the incredible therapy department. Accel is very accommodating to each patient’s needs and desires. And unlike other places the food is awesome and the place is incredibly clean. I wouldn’t send my loved one anywhere else.... This is Not the facility for your loved one should they have Alzheimer’s. Your loved one will be dismissed and neglected. Even if your loved one is easy, meaning family member simply cries easily. Due to Alzheimer’s, family member couldn’t remember not to stand on own after hip replacement surgery. Staff will call you consistently telling you to “get up here to help”; “we cannot handle her”; “she keeps trying to stand”; “you need to get a private sitter!” I personally didn’t sleep while she was there. We called the administrator three times and he never returned one call. Staff hardly acknowledges your presence. You’d think they’d at least make an effort with family members. They parked her at a table staring at a wall. When we got her out, her doctor’s nurse reviewed medications; stunned at how much Accel was sedating her. Nurse immediately cut the medication in half and, within a days, took her completely off it. I’m reporting Accel to state of Texas senior care.
