My sister was placed here after leaving the hospital for a horrible infection in her leg. This place had repeatedly lied about their capabilities and did not have any iv antibiotics available that my sister was supposed to have 24hr a day. The staff was rude and incompetent. We had to have my sister transported back to the visual via ambulance because her leg was turning green due to lack of wound care and antibiotics. I will be filing complaints.

This place is absolutely horrible. There is no communication with the physicians and family members. The physicians REFUSE to call the family to give updates on the care for the patient. My father had a stroke about 4 months ago that left him with some unilateral weakness and wheelchair bound. He has progressively become confused and combative in the past 2-3 weeks. I have called on multiple occasions and asked the nursing staff to have his physician call me so we can discuss his care (I’m out of state or I would walk into the facility for updates). I have not received any calls from the physician, but I did receive a call from the nurse on staff today who was beyond frustrated. She was verbally upset and told me my father was on the floor, covered in “piss” and feces, kicking and cursing. She told me if he kicked her again, she would be calling the police. This is very sad that a medical professional does not understand that a patient that is confused does not understand what they are doing. Hence, confused. Instead of calling the physicians to do their job of figuring out why he may be to this point of confusion, I was called and threatened with the police. Even though I am not physically in Texas to oversee his care, our family is VERY involved and visit him daily at the nursing home. I suggest if you have a loved one that you continue to look for a different facility to place them in. There is a BIG lack of communication, compassion and empathy for the patients at this facility. They take no responsibility for their actions and honestly do not care about the patients.

A great facility for your loved ones....My husband was in this facility for almost a year and I personally was a living witness on how my [removed] stay with Heritage Garden and Rehab Center was carried on day and night.... Staff are friendly to residents as well as to family members and visitors...Nurses and CNA's are caring, friendly and courteous and they all know well the job that they are supposed to do......Facility doctor checks on the residents....Meals are great, , rooms are cleaned daily (including the restrooms..., bed condition, A/C, and other equipments inside the resident's room are regularly checked by maintenance personnel....I also give a two thumbs up of the Rehabilitation Dept personnel....If you are looking for a place for your family member with great nursing and rehabilitation services, Heritage Garden and Rehabilitation Center is the answer. . A Place for Mom has scored Heritage Gardens 1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
