Residential Care Home
Mom had a right frontal medial lobe stroke 18 months ago, resulting in cognitive impairment. Thus, she needs a good deal of attention, especially in learning how to function in her new environment. We had nightmare experiencees with two larger facilities, where due to inattention to Mom's needs, she was constantly dehydrated, reducing her ability to function and communicate well. One of those facilities drugged Mom without my permission or knowledge. We explained Mom's needs to Sydney and she pointed us to Greenview Living, a private facility with a good track record. Although I had been hesitant in the past to take Mom to a private facility, because of Sydney's recommendation, I have now found a wonderful nurturing home for Mom with the care and attention she needs. Mom is now doing very well, is always hydrated and thus is again able to communicate. I am thrilled with Mom's new home. The owner and her staff are so good with Mom that she is not riddled with anxiety. Thank you, Sydney, for taking the time to point us to a good fit for Mom. It is such a relief for me, too - I can now sleep at night.
After having my mother in a large, highly rated rehab/nursing facility for several months, we moved her to Greenview Senior Living and we couldn’t be happier. The atmosphere is that of a home rather than of a facility. The place is immaculately clean. Meals are home-cooked and healthy. The ratio of aides to residents is much lower than at larger facilities and so all of the residents can receive individualized, timely care. The staff is carefully trained and very caring. The owner (Danka) has a wealth of knowledge about senior care and is expert at providing hands-on care herself. She is there daily overseeing every aspect of the facility and of the care. Family and visitors are welcomed and become part of the loving community at Greenview. What a difference!
My mother was a resident for almost two years. Top notch caregivers. When they say you become part of the family, they are not joking. We still talk to the employees and go to holiday parties. This is an excellent alternative for a nursing home. It is truly their home. They can pick what to eat when to eat when to go to bed and what they would like to do. I have not experienced that with other places.
