This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include laundry, emergency response systems, assistance with activities of daily living, and security. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include documenting whether or not the resident took the medication, supervision of self-administered medications, and medication reminders. Staff members obtain training in a variety of areas. These include: residents’ need and service plans, job responsibilities and limitations, internal policies, and philosophy and goals. Public assistance is available through A Medicaid 1915(c) waiver called the Supported Living Program and a 1915(b) waiver called the Managed Long-Term Services and Supports program. The minimum number of residents for this community type is 3. There must be one bath or shower for every residents and one toilet for every 1 residents. The maximum occupancy is 1 residents per room. This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include communities must provide three daily meals.
