I love the option of starting on their Independent Living and when/if I need more assistance, I can move down to their Assisted Living. The staff has always been professional and pleasant. My friends love where they live and I can't wait till I join them there!

My mother lived in Stonehenge for 3 years before she moved to a nursing home. She loved it and we loved it. The staff was very caring, the food was good, and her time there was very pleasant. Beautiful deck with nice views, large room and bath, loving staff.

My mother moved into Stonehenge in [date removed]. The staff has been very welcoming to our family. They are very attentive to all her needs including social activities, hairdresser and Podiatrist visits. The outside area is well maintained and clean. The caregivers make sure all her medical and health needs are met. She has a very comfortable room in which to live. She has made many sweet friends. I feel blessed to have the option of choosing Stonehenge for my mom.

An assisted living community is a residential community which provides care, supervision, and aid to medically stable individuals who do not need skilled nursing services. Services offered often involve support with the activities of daily life. Residents may be kept under observation and assessment. Under certain circumstances, communities may provide skilled nursing care, respite, or hospice. In Georgia, the annual median cost for an assisted living community is around $135,450 . The state of Georgia has a number of stipulations related to this type of community. The Department of Community Health licenses assisted living communities and personal care homes certifies this type of community. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include the provision of assisted self-preservation, assisted living care, described as personal services, and administration of medications by a certified medication aide. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include applying topical medications, assisting residents with storage of medications, and assisting with an Epi pen. There must be one toilet for every 1 residents and one bath or shower for every 1 residents. The minimum number of residents for this community type is 25. This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to guarantee their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as assessment to determine the residents cognitive and behavioral impairments, whether family supports are available, personal preferences relative to care needs, and A written care plan must document the assessment findings. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include at least three meals, one nutritious snack, and any therapeutic diets ordered by a resident’s health care provider must be provided each day. Staff members obtain education in a variety of fields. These include: training necessary to carry out assigned job duties, emergency preparedness, Residents’ rights, and reporting requirements. Public assistance is available through 1915(c) Medicaid Waiver programs- ) the Community Care Services Program is managed by the Department of Community Health’s Division of Medical Assistance Plans and partners with the Division of Aging Services and the Service Options Using Resources in a Community Environment (SOURCE) program.
