This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include meals must be adapted to residents physical abilities , meals must be adapted to residents preferences, meals must be adapted to residents’ food habits, and the community must provide therapeutic diets as ordered by the resident’s health care provider for residents who require special diets. Staff members receive education in a variety of subjects. These areas include 26 hours of training plus a competency test, community sanitation procedures, infection control, and resident abuse, neglect, and and exploitation. Public assistance is available through 1915(b)(c) MLTC program. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include assistance with self-administration of medications, nursing services, personal care services, and assistance with activities of daily living . Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to assure their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as communities must document such assessment, medical examination report, community must document any substantial changes in a resident’s status which may necessitate relocation to a more specialized community , and monthly nursing assessment of resident as ordered by physician .
