Staff members receive training in a number of subjects. These areas include need for professionall help, how to recognize early signs of illness, the aging process, and 10 hours of initial training within the first 4 weeks of employment and 4 additional hours annually. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include medication administration and assistance with self-administration of medications. This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day. There must be one toilet for every 1 residents and one bath or shower for every 1 residents. Public assistance is available through The state’s Medicaid 1915(c) Assisted Living Waiver program.
