Assisted Living
My parents have been here almost a year. The staff and owner are friendly and have genuine concern for the residents. They get to know the residents, so when something is not right (mentally/physically) they know and can address it quickly. It’s never easy for a person to transition from independent living to having to have help and live by a different set of rules but the folks at Homeland work day-in and day-out to make that transition as easy as possible. We have had a few issues here and there, but when brought to the owner’s attention, they were handled quickly, professionally and to our complete satisfaction. I would highly recommend Homeland to anyone seeking assisted living for their loved ones.
The reasons for the numbers 4 ratings had to do with CoVid restrictions and some difficulty with administrator on assisted living wing. Many of regular activities were put on pause because of Covid restrictions but those that were offered were great. In our experience, all nurses and caregivers were great. Our one difficulty had to do with above mentioned administrator. She was difficult to contact or get answers from, her decisions weren't always in line with info we had been given. In general, she proved to be more difficult to work with than any other personnel. overall our experience with Oak Grove was very positive and we would highly recommend this community to others.
The staff is very caring. Several staff members, including caregivers and nurses have approached me, asking how I think my dad is doing and is there anything I think they could do to help him feel more at home. They have also been careful to monitor my dad and update me on any changes to his condition and what plans they have to address issues.
