We have been impressed by the care of the staff. They really just "love my mother" and let her know! The place is small enough that one does not feel as if one is in an institution. Any time there is a concern, we can call or stop by and talk to admin., who are very quick to address the issue. All of the staff do all of the work. I've seen the Executive Director, and the head of Nursing, serving meals and cleaning up!

My mom has been a resident at Oxton Place for over a year now. She is very happy, never mentions going home and is always smiling when we are there - on an almost daily basis. We visit at different times of they day, see workers providing very sweet care giving services and seeing the ED there at any given time - after hours, weekends, etc. She was there all night with them during a recent weather/snow incident. She's dedicated to providing care to these residents and leaving the family members with a sense of relief. Maybe (some) of the negative comments on this page are from disgruntled employees or family members. Please know all the facts and look at the big picture before saying No to Oxton. It's been a God send to my family!

Rosewood Manor in Scottsboro, AL

They have an activity room with puzzles and things like that but then they also had entertainment come in as well it seemed like every day. For the price it is a very nice facility. Everyone knows each other and watches out for each other. Any residents who wanted to help with cooking or anything like that, they were encouraged to do that. It was like sharing a house. [name removed] the director is also a nurse. She was very easy to talk with and open. If any residents need medical care they had a doctor who would come every Friday so you did not have to leave the facility. It is a smaller facility with only 16 rooms so the care is more personalized. They do have a memory care facility next door that is attached by an outdoor fenced in area. There is not a lot of green space between the buildings, but they were supposed to be doing renovations this winter to update that so residents had more space to get outside. They have plenty of outdoor seating on the front porch for the residents. The majority of the facility is women, for a while our loved one was the only guy. I do know another guy has just moved in. I would definitely recommend Rosewood Manor to others.
