Golden Pond Retirement Residence in Codrington, ON
5.0

We found Golden Pond with the assistance of a Place for Mom. Deborah was my advisor and she was so compassionate and understanding it made the process easy. Golden Pond is different than other retirement residences. It is in a country setting and it has a "cottagy" feel to it. All of the rooms are furnished but you are also welcome to bring your own furnishings. Golden Pond has under 25 residents so it is like a large family gathering for meals and activities. The staff are warm and friendly and due to the nurse patient ratio they have been able to spend one on one time with my mother to improve her physical quality of life. Within two weeks my Mom has settled in and she considers Golden Pond her new home.

Quinte Gardens Retirement Residence in Belleville, ON
4.5

My Mom is almost 102 with dementia and recovering from a broken hip. We were lost as to where to place her. Quinte Gardens was recommended by A Place For Mom, and it has been wonderful. She is on a floor that provides extra services for someone like her with PSW's there all the time to take care of her personal needs. They dress and wash her in the morning and get her ready for bed at night. They take her to a beautiful dining hall for three meals with white linen tablecloths and waitresses to serve from the menu. There is a Bistro lounge with TV, tea and coffee and cookies all day where she can meet a friend and entertain. Her room is cleaned daily and her laundry done. She seems to have settled in and seems happy. We should all be so lucky to have such a happy ending!
