The Goldton at Adelaide in Starkville, MS

This community is worth investigating to see if this is a good option for your loved one. The proper care, respect, and watching over the residents is done well here; however, the staff are still good at allowing the residents have their autonomy. There are three meals a day, and there is a menu for the residents to order from. There are also snacks for the residents. My loved one enjoys the meals. The community is good at meeting dietary restrictions as well.

We are happy with all of the staff members and the care that is given. The food is great and they do offer. They have a lot of great activities and we hope she does participate more. We liked that the community was smaller and what we were looking for. We recommend this community to other families for the great care and value that is received here for a loved one

Nursing Homes

A nursing home provides residence to two or more seniors who have no personal ties to the administrator. A nursing home facility provides its occupants with around-the-clock care administered by on-site nurses. These caregivers offer healthcare services for seniors who are unable to care for their own needs due to mental or physical conditions.

Nursing homes are a convenient and comfy living option for persons 65 years and above, however nursing homes will commonly allow persons 55 and older which is unusual for other senior care types. The most common mental disease effecting residents of nursing homes is dementia, which can cloud their decision making capacities, and their sense of familiarity, and memory recall. There are some services that may come at a cost to residents which can include personal comfort items, a private room, unless medically needed, and personal reading materials. Nursing homes are required to provide nursing and related services, medically-related social services, a professionallly directed program of activities, and emergency dental services to residents. Often times individuals might decide to live in a nursing home over another type of facility due to a mental or physical impairment that prevents them from easily accomplishing their standard of living. Many occupants of nursing homes might have behavioral problems, which can consist of verbal outbursts, resisting care, or a tendency to wander.
