Covenant Glen of Frankenmuth
5.0

I have just placed my Wife into Covenant Glen in Frankenmuth. The process was quite smooth, but also I needed to be patient, a hard thing for me to do..But the administration & staff at this place is top notch. The Exec. Director & I had spoke on the phone several times, and I also worked with "The Alissa's".. a very good experience. I moved my wife from a failing facility to a much better place with more STUFF & for less money. The monthly fees are very competitive.. I know I've done my homework & have a LTC policy on my wife... I have no reservations about placing wife in the CARE of Covenant Glen.. Thank Goodness for Good People... [Removed]

Bay City Comfort Care
5.0

We are very happy with the care and attention our loved is getting at Bay City. The activities person is always thinking of fun things to do i.e. indoor baseball games, cooking classes, dances etc. The staff take good care of our loved one and the residents appear to be happy.

Harbor Independent Living of East Tawas
5.0

My mother is in the Independent Living section of Harbors. Her room is very comfortably laid out and has a private bathroom. There are numerous activities offered to the residents. And the residents appear to be happy. There is nice outdoor space for the residents to enjoy in warmer weather. The dining/activity area is very spacious and clean. I have met many of the staff as well as the owner. They are all very friendly and encouraging. I personally know family members of residents who are in Assisted Living, and they are very happy to have their parent living at Harbors. I would recommend Harbors to other families looking for good care.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home community offers room and board to two or more individuals who have no family relation to the administrator. This type of community provides its inhabitants with around-the-clock care by on-site nurses. These caregivers provide healthcare services for people who are unable to adequately take care of their own needs because of their aging.

This type of community is a convenient and comfortable care option for persons 65 years or older, however nursing homes will frequently allow persons 55 and above which is for other senior care types. There are some services that may come at a cost to residents which can include personal reading materials, a private room, unless medically needed, and personal comfort items. The most frequent mental issue effecting residents of nursing homes is dementia, which can hinder their decision making capacities, memory recall, and and familiarity. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to have your representative notified about your care, get proper medical care, be free from discrimination, and be free from abuse and neglect. Nursing homes are required to provide specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability), room and bed maintenance services, dietary services, and a professionallly directed program of activities to residents. A significant amount of residents are bachelors or widows who have less social support, and almost 50% of nursing home residents are over 85 years old.
