My father is on the memory care unit: The staff is very willing to talk and listen to families. The activities staff try's hard to keep those who are able, active and involved in activities throughout the day. If a resident needs to rest or take a nap, they understand. The staff is well trained in working with dementia residents and know how to redirect and calm a situation if need be without embarrassing the resident. I feel my father is safe and well cared for. My only issue has been communicating to my siblings and I when he needs more supplies; or clothing, in his case, has become too small. Luckily one of us is usually there at least once a month, as we all live out of state.
It's a great experience. We picked this community, because of the good reputation and they are nice to deal with. It was close to me, and my daughter. I would recommend to others.
I have had a wonderful experience with Langdon. My mother has been in the skilled nursing twice, and they have recently added a lot of staff which has made their communication, attentiveness, and flexibility evident. I am wary of for-profit senior care, but they genuinely care here and make every effort to treat their patients with kindness and patience. The food in the skilled nursing isn't great, but I think it's better in the assisted living.
