My sister lived at River Bend for almost 4 years and recently passed away there. The staff and administration are the most caring and compassionate people I have ever met. My sister absolutely loved living here and loved the food as well! They were always so helpful when we had questions and very accommodating when we came to visit. We will definitely miss all the staff that we have come to know so well and highly recommend River Bend to anyone looking for a nice, clean facility with loving staff members who actually care!

Nursing homes, also called skilled nursing facilities, provide long-term care for seniors with significant physical or mental health conditions, and short-term care to people recovering from an injury or hospital stay. Nursing homes provide personal assistance and medical care from licensed professionals. Services in skilled nursing facilities often include:
A nursing home offers residence to two or more individuals who are not related by marriage or by blood to the administrator. A nursing home community offers its occupants 24-hour care administered by on-site nurses. These caregivers provide care for people who cannot properly care for themselves.
This type of community is a helpful and comfy care option for persons 65 years and above, however nursing homes will commonly take in individuals 55 and greater which is unusual for other senior care types. The most frequent mental condition effecting nursing home residents is dementia, which can cloud their and familiarity, decision making capacities, and memory function. There are some services that may come at a cost to residents which can include special care services not included in the community’s Medicaid payment, a private room, unless medically needed, and cosmetic and grooming items. Nursing homes are required to provide routine personal hygiene items, emergency dental services, a professionallly directed program of activities, and specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability) to residents. A large portion of nursing home residents are individuals who have a physical or mental disability, experience difficulty seeing and hearing, have incontinence issues, or require assistance with daily tasks such as walking. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to get information on services and fees, get proper privacy, property, and living arrangements, be free from abuse and neglect, and to manage your money.
