Homestead of Knoxville Assisted Living

I would highly recommend Homestead. I would be happy to live there if I ever become unable to care for myself. The kitchen around mealtime smelled wonderful. Lots of areas to gather and socialize. Wide hallways with sitting areas spaced out so you can rest if you have a long trek to the mess hall. Pleasant staff. Clean.

All is going well, we really like it here. It is a very nice facility and it is very easy to make friends. The apartments are lovely, it is easy to relax and just enjoy life!

They are very helpful at coordinating care. It's a very pleasant place to be. They have a daily activities schedule which include baking doggie cookies for the local pet shelter and other things. Communication between the community and myself is pretty good, they usually contact me with any issues. If I reach out to them first, they are responsive. My loved ones apartment is spacious; it has a living room, a bedroom, an easily accessible bathroom, and a small kitchenette area with cabinet and counter space. It's a pretty modern, updated nice place - and it's a move up for her. Overall I would recommend Pennsylvania Place to others.

Complete guide to nursing homes

Centerville, Iowa

Nursing Homes

A nursing home is a building that houses at least two persons who are not related by blood or by marriage to the administrator. A nursing home community provides its inhabitants with around-the-clock care by on-site nurses. These caregivers provide personal care, maintenance and other health related services for seniors who cannot adequately care for their needs due to mental or physical conditions, including age.

Nursing homes can be a helpful and comfortable living choice for persons 65 years and above, however nursing homes will usually accept individuals 55 and older which is unusual for other senior care types. Nursing homes are required to provide pharmaceutical services, nursing and related services, routine personal hygiene items, and specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability) to residents. Types of care services and amenities provided at nursing homes might include bill pay, patient and caregiver education, injections, and help with shopping and transportation. A significant amount of inhabitants are single women with smaller social support groups, and almost fifty percent of nursing home residents are over 85 years old. Often times persons might prefer to live in a nursing home due to a mental or physical impairment that prevents them from easily accomplishing their standard of living. The most common mental issue experienced by residents of nursing homes is dementia, which can hinder their decision making abilities, memory function, and and familiarity with their surroundings.
