We went with The Senior Residence at Se. Peter Apostle because they offered a comparable level of service for almost $2000 less a month. The facility is smaller with only 20 rooms, it is a former convent so you have to be ok with a small room versus some other places that had large rooms. They have communal bathrooms and showers but there are 4 per hall so she has never had to wait. In terms of services, the other places we saw were not offering much more than this one and were more expensive. Here they offer 3 meals a day and access to coffee and tea throughout the day in a common room. It offers towel and bedsheet cleaning. But they do not have as many activities provided which is ok. The atmosphere is homey and she is comfortable here. I would absolutely recommend that others check it out. Staff are amazing and it doesn't matter who it is, they are super helpful to the residents. You can reach the director at anytime, she even gave me her phone number if we needed anything.
My father in law is doing okay here at this community, he is still adjusting, but they are caring for him well. We do feel comfortable with his move to this community, it is a nice place. [Removed] is amazing. She was great to work with, she was very helpful, and understanding. The front desk receptionist isn't very pleasant, but the rest of the staff is very kind, and helpful. His room is well maintained when we visit, but the guest restroom could be better maintained. They have been very accommodating, and this is a community I would recommend.
I received helpful and friendly service from both the staff and administration. The facility is clean and secure, the grounds are well kept, there are numerous activities and services available on premises, and free bus service to local businesses. For independent living, it's a very good fit for my 90 year old parents. Age-in-place assisted living options are available if and when necessary, as well.

For many seniors, cost of owning a home might be a deterrent to enjoying an otherwise independent lifestyle. Independent Living Communities offer a solid alternative. Basic tasks such as meal preparation and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and social activities is provided, allowing residents an opportunity to use their time as they see fit, free from daily responsibilities. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, surrounded by others of similar ages and interests. Typically consisting of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and there will be more time to spend with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies vary between locations, a number of residences allow pets as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with independent care providers as desired. There are a number of benefits and costs to consider while determining an independent living community. It is important to learn if these services are included in your service plan: Waiting list deposit, field trips, housekeeping, wellness program, transportation, utilities, private phone, and meals. The benefits that pertain to independent living include transportation, beauty salon & barber shop, private rental hall, fitness center & swimming pool, restaurant-style dining hall, security guards, community activities, and healthcare center.
