One of the reasons why I chose this facility for my Mother is because it is a low capacity community with only 12 residents and it does not feel institutionalized. The staff members themselves are open, warm, and communicate with me very well. They do offer a lot of activities like puzzles, books on tape, and a radio to listen to. The meals are at the same time every day and they have a specified dining hall. The facility itself is kept up with very well and it has a family feel. It’s always clean here and it looks like a home. It is an older building and they could get a little more creative with the colors. I would recommend this facility to other families.
The quality of the housing seems to be very good. It's a new and updated facility, and the apartment size offerings are very good, especially given the price of the rent. The availability of activities has been pretty good, given Covid throwing a wrench in everything. But they're kind of lacking in their newsletter in getting the word out about activities. There seems to be a bit of a delay in the staff getting back to you. But anytime we're face to face with them, they're very friendly, and they have taken care of any issues we've had.
My mom was skeptical at first she had her my mind set she wasn't going to like living there thought it was a nursing home..even though I assured her it wasn't it took about 2 weeks an now she's absolutely loves it at Bristol Manor . It's very clean the staff is wonderful with all the elderly people..an my mom loves their food .lol..an it's awesome watching the workers giving their love an care to each individual..they treat them like real people an not a number or a piece of meat. There is one lady that works their don't know her name but I call her smiley cause she's always has a smile on her face..you can tell they really enjoy their job.. thank you all for your help an service.
