Atwood Personal Care Home in Kosciusko, MS
4.5

This community is clean and bright and the location is very close to our family so we can visit quite often. It also was the least expensive in the area. Right now we aren't sure what all activities they have, those are still pretty limited due to restrictions still in place.

Montgomery Gardens in Starkville, MS

We are happy with all of the staff members and the care that is given. The food is great and they do offer. They have a lot of great activities and we hope she does participate more. We liked that the community was smaller and what we were looking for. We recommend this community to other families for the great care and value that is received here for a loved one

Independent Living

Independent Living Communities offer seniors a handy equilibrium between an independent lifestyle and not having to concern themselves with the maintenance of basic tasks and responsibilities. Basic tasks such as meal planning and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and leisure activities is maintained, allowing residents an opportunity to use their time as they choose, free from daily responsibilities. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and interests. Typically comprised of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies vary between communities, many residences allow cats and dogs as well. If medical or nursing assistance is desired, residents may always enlist the services of independent caregivers. There are a number of expenses and benefits to consider when selecting an independent living community. It is important to learn if these services are included in your care plan: move-in fee, Waiting list deposit, transportation, meals, utilities, laundry, cable TV, and private phone. The conveniences associated with independent living include game/TV room, beauty salon & barber shop, concierge services, private rental hall, security guards, fitness center & swimming pool, healthcare center, and restaurant-style dining hall.
